snižavanju nivoa LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein - lipoproteina male gustine) u krvi i povećanje nivoa
njegov lateks sadrži brojne alkaloide (morfijum, tebain, kodein, papaverin, noskapin).
AB - Papaver somniferum L. is the opium poppy plant consumed as food. There are a large number of poppy
varieties that are used to obtain opium alkaloids for pharmaceutical purposes and to produce seeds
for use as food. Poppy seeds are rich in linoleic and oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that helps
lower LDL (low density lipoprotein) levels in the blood and increases HDL (high density lipoprotein) levels, which are very important for cardiovascular health. Poppy seeds do not contain opiates, but can be
contaminated with them when harvested, as the poppy latex contains numerous alkaloids (morphine,
thebaine, codeine, papaverine, and noscapine).

AB - This study aimed to determine the variability properties of four major types of Amaranthus species in
protein and amino acids content in leaves and flowers. Obtained results by ion exchange chromatography in
our study have shown high values for the content of essential amino acids lysine and methionine. In the leaf,
the lysine content ranged from 3.9 (A. caudatus) to 7.0 (A. cruentus; A. moleros), and in the flowers from 4.2
(A. caudatus) to 6.7 (A. molleros). The methionine content ranged from 3.1 (A. caudatus) to 7.4 (A.
mantegazzianus) in the leaf and in the flower from 2.9 (A. caudatus) to 6.7 (A. mantegazzianus). Besides lysine
and methionine, significant values of other essential amino acids were recorded, respectively. Significant
concentrations of total proteins were recorded in all examined genotypes. The heritability of the studied
characters as protein and mineral content of seeds and leaves, and oil contents of seed were significantly high.
The maximum values of the protein content of seeds were 16.55% (A. cruentus), in leaves 20.10% (A. caudatus),
and the minerals in seeds 2.73% (A. moleros), and leaves 18.76% (A. mantegazzianus). The oil content of seeds
was 6.16% (A. moleros). The oil content of the seed’s proportion of genetic variance to total phenotypic variance
was 72%, and it has a significant impact on ecological factors. Tested divergent Amaranthus genotypes may
serve as parents for further crossing. Amaranth seeds is gluten-free and is important in the diet of celiac patients
and contains amino acids, especially lysine, which acts against the herpes virus. Amaranth from amaranth leaves
biologically active substance that prevents heart muscle damage during ischemic processes. Amaranth seed oil
has hypolipemic, anti-atherosclerotic, hypotensive and antioxidant activity.

AB - In vivo modeling of digestive processes is not a standard mathematical modeling task, taking advanced technologies of several sciences. This article will consider a microbiological complex for modeling the processes occurring in the gastrointestinal tract of animals. The system belongs to mini-models with a working volume of up to 400 ml, the simulation of the dynamics of the mixing of the chyme is static, which significantly simplifies the methodology of conducting experiments, but imposes difficulties on the stages of pretreatment of food matrices. The following characteristics are achieved: reactor volume from 50 to 100 mL; a pH accuracy of ± 0.1; temperature accuracy of ± 0.063 °C.

AB - Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) is a gluten-free pseudo-cereal and honey plant. Buckwheat grain yields vary greatly and depend on the genotype, agro-ecological conditions of production and harvesting method. The grain yield of the 'Novosadska' variety variеs 1.5-3 t ha-1 and the honey yield amounts and more than 300 kg ha-1. Buckwheat grain contains: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, organic acids and rutin (quercetin-3-rutinosid), minerals (potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iodine, zinc, bromine and iron), vitamins (D2-ergokalciferol, D3-holekalciferol, P-bioflavonoids, vitamins group B: B1-Thiamine, B2-Riboflavin, B3-niacin, B4-Choline, B5-Pantothenic acid, B6-Piridoxin, B9-Folate; and vitamin E-Tocopherols. 'Novosadska' buckwheat contains the highest level of phenolic acids, proanthocyanidins, flavones and flavonols. Buckwheat honey is dark color, which it gets from polyphenols. Polyphenols is antioxidants, organic compounds which affect the quality of food, especially the color and taste. In accordance with the law on food safety, the interests of consumers must be ensured the highest level of protection. Phenolic antioxidants from honey are bioavailable and increase the antioxidant activity of plasma. Buckwheat honey has a beneficial effect on bronchitis and cough, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, of heart disease, liver and intestinal diseases and has antibacterial effects.

AB - This paper tries to reproduce two types of trophic chains on the example of an aquatic ecosystem model, with the participation of planktonic and benthic organisms: "yersinia - infusoria - daphnia - fish" and "yersinia - insect larvae - fish". The concentration of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis during primary infection (infusoria culture medium) was 109/ml. In the first hours after infection, the concentration of bacteria in the infusoria decreased (105cfu/mass ). In daphnia, which consumed infected infusoria, the concentration of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis decreases in the first 3-5 days (from 105 to 103 cfu/10 individuals), then the reproduction of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis in daphnia continues, and on the 11th day it reaches 107 cfu/10 individuals. The concentration of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis in the intestines of fish fed infected daphnia (107cfu/10 individuals) is continuously decreasing: 105 cfu (after 24 hours) and 102-101 cfu/individuals (after 15-30 days).

AB - Environmental pollution is one of the main problems facing humanity on a global scale, as well as the leading cause of the growing incidence of certain human and animal diseases. Organic production as a sustainable system combines tradition and new technological solutions in the prevention of environmental pollution, both from the aspect of biological diversity of flora and fauna in the agroecosystem, and from the aspect of nutritional values and absence of pesticide residues in plant and animal products. Organic production enables the protection of biodiversity and the environment. An important feature of organic agriculture is the exclusion of the use of mineral fertilizers and pesticides, due to the potential negative effects that can be caused by their uncontrolled use. In organic production, mostly organic fertilizers and biological preparations are used, which enable the decomposition of harvest residues and the release of plant assimilates. In recent times, the possibilities of using allelopathic substances and secondary metabolites of plants as growth regulators and natural herbicides in sustainable agriculture are expanding, while the most important alternative to mineral fertilizers are microbiological fertilizers. In this paper, the importance and scope of application of microbiological fertilizers in modern agricultural production are considered.

AB - Medicinal plants, about 10,000 species, are used in medicine to treat diseases or preserve human health because they are rich in the content of alkaloids, glycosides, resin, essential oils, etc. Phytopreparations are very important in the treatment of productive cough, both in self-medication and on the recommendation of health professionals. Medicinal preparations containing saponosides stimulate the glands to secrete bronchial secretions through a gastropulmonary reflex mechanism, which results in the production of rarer, watery mucus in the bronchial glands. They act on thick mucus as surfactants, reduce its viscosity and facilitate expectoration. Among triterpene saponosides used as expectorants, ivy leaf extract has proven therapeutic efficacy based on in vitro and in vivo studies. For other saponin expectorants (primrose root and flower, liquorice root (radix dulcis = sweet root), senega root, grindelia herb, common polypody rhizome), only the traditional application has been documented, which is confirmed by many studies. Due to the increased application, as well as the necessary confirmations of efficacy, there is a need for future research to analyze in more detail the pharmacological effects of triterpene saponins of expectorant action and their effect on the human organism.

AB - The term biodiversity includes the overall diversity of living organisms within the biosphere. In order for natural processes in ecosystems to take place, it is necessary to preserve all components of biodiversity. The cycles of the circulation of matter and the flow of energy are the basis for the maintenance of life on the planet, and take place in ecosystems thanks to the activity of plants, animals and microorganisms. In addition to enabling the maintenance of all life on the planet, biological resources, that is, living organisms, have an exceptional practical value for humans. Therefore, the protection and conservation of biological resources should be included in the implementation of activities related to environmental protection. In this paper, the importance of preserving the diversity of biological resources, as a group of the most important natural resources on the planet, is considered.

abstract = "The term biodiversity includes the overall diversity of living organisms within the biosphere. In this paper, the importance of preserving the diversity of biological resources, as a group of the most important natural resources on the planet, is considered.",

AB - In this study, we explore the concept of adaptation to climate change from the aspect of analyzing the impact of changes on linseed production. The quality parameters of linseed varieties NS Marko and NS Primus were tested, which were selected at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops. The experiments were performed on the plots of the Institute, in three replications, over a three-year period. The year of research had a significant impact on the examined parameters of linseed production. The results of the research showed significant variations in oil content over the years. By applying
new improved production technology we can successfully face the changes that have taken place, and which certainly determine the directions of future development.

AB - Buckwheat is an economically important gluten free cereal, and it is a good source of protein, fiber, and energy. The field experiments with buckwheat variety “Novosadska” were set in two experimental years in Pancevo, Serbia. The aim of this study was to determine the most optimal technology for buckwheat production. The study aims were to investigate the effects of (1) row spacing: RS1-25 cm and RS2-50 cm; (2) nutrition variants: (N1) 0 kg ha−1 NPK; (N2) NPK 30 kg ha−1; (N3) NPK 60 kg ha−1; and (N4) NPK 90 kg ha−1; (3) environment: Y1-2018 and Y2-2019; and their interactions on the plant height (PH), number of lateral branches (NoLB), mass of seeds per plant (MSP), number of seeds per plant (NoSP), buckwheat grain yield (GY); and (4) the correlations among these traits. All tested parameters of buckwheat significantly varied across row spacing, environment, and nutrition. The average grain yield in the row spacing, RD1-25 cm, was significantly higher than in the wider spacing, RD2-50 cm, and in 2018 than 2019 as well as with the nutrition NPK applied in the amount of 90 kg ha−1 in relation with all the other nutrition variants. All the studied agronomic traits were positively and strongly correlated with GY.

AB - With a circular economy, biodegradable waste – plant biomass can be reused as: compost, for soil fertilization, and for biogas production, as an affordable bioenergy source. In this study, the productivity of two hybrids of fodder sorghum, grown in Ilandza, Serbia, was examined. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the tested hybrids, for leaf mass. A positive highly significant correlation was found between plant mass and leaf mass. Fodder sorghum is a species with C4 photosynthesis, which has a high degree of photosynthetic activity and has a high production of organic matter resulting in high biomass yield. Sorghum is a productive and cost-effective plant suitable for production: animal feed, and for energy purposes.

AB - Mental illness affects millions of people around the world. Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental disorders, occurring in 16.6% of the population around the world. Anxiety (anxietas-worry, fear, uneasiness) is a specific psychic state, characterized by an excessive manifestation of emotionality. It occurs under the influence of stress, which in interaction with the genetically innate level of emotional activity and reactivity, causes excessive manifestation of emotionality, which is manifested by excessive changes in the behavior and activation of the autonomic nervous system (dilation of pupils, tachycardia, sweating of the palms, respiratory disorder, GIT disorders, etc.). In mild and reversible forms of anxiety disorders, anxiety can be stimulating and productive. However, in strong forms, anxiety can hinder normal human activity for a long time, which requires therapy. In addition to pharmacological therapy, many herbal medicines have shown efficacy in the treatment of anxiety disorders, as therapeutic agents or in addition to therapy, which is confirmed by numerous scientific studies. Herbal preparations of Passiflora incarnata, Kava-Kava, St. John’s wort, valerian, chamomile, lemon balm, lavender are used for centuries in traditional medicine due to sedative effect and positive mood impact. Studies proving the usefulness of these herbal remedies and their extracts in the treatment of anxiety disorders have been gaining importance over the past several decades.

AB - The primary goal of bean production is to obtain high and stable yields, in which an
important role. For that reason, in this manuscript we investigated the impact of
cultivar, soil conditioners and NPK fertilizer on yield components and grain yield of
bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Field microexperiments were conducted during the
2020 in the agroecological conditions of the central Šumadija (locality Rača
Kragujevačka), on brown forest soil type (Eutric Cambisol), according to the Split
plot design in four repetitions. In this research, a three-factorial experiment was
based in the following variants: Variety (A1 - Galeb, A2 - Sremac), “pH Plus” soil
conditioners (B1 - without “pH Plus”, B2 - with “pH Plus” 500 kg ha-1) and NPK fertilization (C1 - control - without fertilizer application, C2 - N30P20K30 kg ha-1
a.m., C3 – N60P40K60 kg ha-1 a.m.). Standard agrotechnological measures were applied,
as for the regular production of bean. The results showed that the application of NPK increased the number of pods per plant from 36.3% (on the treatment N30P20K30 kg ha-1
a.m.) to 46.1% (on the treatment N60P40K60 kg ha-1 a.m.) in comparison to the control, number of grains per plant from 17.5% to 27.2%, as well as the mass of grains per plant from 20.0% to 48.3%. The application of “pH Plus” soil conditioners increased the number of pods
per plant by 9.7%, number of grains per plant by 9.9% and the weight of grains per
plant by 4.2%.

AB - The Ukrina River (Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a smaller right tributary of the Sava River, whose basin lies between the lower reaches of the Vrbas and Bosna rivers. In addition to being a relatively small basin area, the Ukrina River is characterized by exceptional biological diversity. The appearance of the mayflies (Ephemeroptera) in the summer period of the year also contributes to the biological diversity of the Ukrina River, which makes it the site of this natural rarity. In this study, the threat to the biological minimum and the increased eutrophication of water are considered, as the main factors of disturbing the ecological balance and sustainability of the Ukrina River ecosystem.

AB - Climatic extremes demonstrated that agriculture is sensitive to climate change. Climate changes shifting climate variables: temperature, precipitation, humidity, evaporation, sunlight, wind speed, etc. Climatic change has created challenges for the agricultural sector and added pressure on global agricultural and food systems. On many crops there are negative impacts from extreme weather as droughts, floods, higher temperatures and season shifts that climate change brings. Rising temperatures and water stress have already led to lower crop yields for maize, wheat, soybean, sunflower, buckwheat, millet, flax, potato, phacelia and other crops which typically relies on precipitation instead of irrigation. The rising temperature has adverse effect on flowering and leads to pests and disease buildup. Flood and excess rain over a short duration of time cause extensive damage to crops. For one country a decrease yields bring a high decline in production and therefore reducing the budget i.e. economic weakening. Climate change therefore threatens global food supply as certain crops become more expensive due to a decrease in production and supply. In such situations, should be introduced into production alternative crops like sorghum and millet, which can be grow at conditions where the dry season prevails during the crop vegetation. The agriculture also has to take place and in adverse climatic conditions and produce enough food by sowing tolerant varieties in changed environmental conditions.

AB - Food is a substance must be taken into the human organism in order to preserve homeostasis. Foods can be of plant, animal and mineral origin, and by chemical composition belong to carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. However, various toxic and carcinogenic substances can be found in food, which originate from natural sources, the environment, or are formed during the food processing process. In the production of health safe food, it is extremely important to reduce their amount in food or eliminate them completely. In this paper, carcinogenic substances, which can be found in food and pose a risk to food safety are considered.

AB - The paper examined the impact of the application of three different phytohormones (INCIT 2, INCIT 5 and INCIT 8, all based on a-Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA)), with the cuttings of two forms of Pannonian thyme (the L-16 form, with hairy leaves, and the L-9 form, with hairless leaves), established during two periods (March and May), on the percentage of the rooted cuttings and the morphological properties of the seedlings. As the control, the variant without the application of the phytohormones was taken. The research was conducted in the period from 2019 to 2020, in a plastic greenhouse, using the plant collection of the Institute for Medicinal Plants Research "Dr Josif Pančić", which is located in Pančevo city, Serbia (44°52'20"N; 20°42'06"E; 74 m.a.s.l.). For this research was used the Pannonian thyme species (Thymus pannonicus All.) from the Lamiaceae family, which is grown and produced at the Institute. Plant establishment was carried out in four repetitions with 33 cuttings per each variant. Standard measures of care were used during the period of production of Pannonian thyme. The measurement was performed after 60 days from the date of conducted the experiment. The following parameters were measured: the percentage of rooted cuttings (%), the mass of the rooted plantlings (g), the mass of roots (g), the length of rooting (cm) and the number of root hairs of the formed rootings. The measuring was done using a ruler, millimetre paper and an analytical balance. Given the results achieved, INCIT 2 proved to be the most suitable phytohormone for the rooting of Pannonic thyme cuttings, with the average percentage of rooted cuttings of 61.3%. The lowest rooting percentage was recorded in the control variant, only 29.4%. Satisfactory rooting was found in the cuttings treated with INCIT 8 (57.6%). The L-16 form cuttings showed a higher rooting rate, an average of 53.8%, whereas the L-9 form cuttings had a lower average percentage of rooted cuttings (45.0%) for both plant establishment periods. Greater success and quality in the rooting of cuttings was recorded in the second (May) period of plant establishment, averaging 58.1%, which was higher by 17.4% than the percentage of rooted cuttings in the first establishment period (40.7%). It is important to note that the rooting of the L-9 form was significantly higher in the second establishment period (58.1%) than that in the first establishment period (31.9%).

AB - This paper examined the effect of NPK fertilization, nitrogen fertilization, and
seed inoculation by nodule bacteria on the yield and grain yield components of
beans. The field microexperiment was performed under the agro-ecological
conditions of central Šumadija and on the brown forest soil type (Eutric cambisol).
The obtained results showed significant differences in number of pods,
number of grains and grain yield between the tested fertilization treatments. On
the contrary, seed inoculation did not have a significant effect on the observed
productivity parameters of beans.

Suprotno tome, inokulacija semena nije ispoljila značajniji uticaj na posmatrane parametre produktivnosti pasulja., This paper examined the effect of NPK fertilization, nitrogen fertilization, and
seed inoculation by nodule bacteria on the yield and grain yield components of
beans. The field microexperiment was performed under the agro-ecological
conditions of central Šumadija and on the brown forest soil type (Eutric cambisol).
The obtained results showed significant differences in number of pods,
number of grains and grain yield between the tested fertilization treatments. On
the contrary, seed inoculation did not have a significant effect on the observed
productivity parameters of beans.",

AB - Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) is a diploid (2n=16) annual alternative cereal, from the family Polygonaceae, the genus Fagopyrum, which originated in China. Buckwheat is successfully cultivated in the plains and mountainous regions of Serbia. It has excellent technological grain quality, contains important amino acids, iron, magnesium, folic acid, rutin, quercetin, kaempferol-3-rutinoside and a small amount of triglycoside, making it suitable foodstuff for special nutrition. Buckwheat has multiple uses, as food and feed, in the pharmaceutical and other industries. Buckwheat variety “Novosadska’ is one of the most grown varieties in Serbia. For successful production it is necessary to apply varietal cultivation technology. Knowledge of the biological properties of the plant itself and its requirements according to environmental conditions, form the basis of cultivation technology. Important agro-technical measures in buckwheat production are nutrition and row spacing. The aim of this study was to present preliminary results of the effects of row spacing (25 and 50 cm) and NPK nutrients (0; 30; 60 and 90 kg ha“) of the tested buckwheat variety “Novosadska’ to the following traits: germination energy and germination of seeds (%), seed weight per plant (g), number of seeds per plant and seed yield (kg ha). Based on the analysis of variance, row spacing and fertilization had a statistically significant effect on all of the examined factors.
