| sr |
dc.description.abstract | The paper deals with the unadapted English loanwords coaching and coach, the possibilities of their translation and recommendations for their translation equivalents, which are based on the newspaper articles’ research as well as polemics in a language group on Facebook dealing with the same topic. The aim of the paper is to point out the immense influence which the English language has on the Serbian lexis, the import of the unnecessary English words and phrases into Serbian due to bad translations, and the need to react to this issue by finding suitable translational solutions since there exist semantically appropriate words for these term in the lexical stock of the Serbian language. The group of appropriate terms includes the following: učitelj, predavač, savetnik, (psiho)terapeut, instruktor, and, as far as the process is concerned, it contains: savetovanje, obuka, poduka, kurs, terapija, tečaj, while the terms trener and trening are not considered the adequate translations, for, in the Serbian standard language, they are used for denoting sports activities | sr |
