AB  - Spring population of Erysiphe graminis hordei, of the barley pathogen, was analyzed using of mobile nurseries in the Kragujevac locality (Serbia) during the period from 1995 to 1997. There were significant differences in the course of development of this parasite between years and depending on environmental conditions during plant standing in the field.

Rasprostranjenost i štetnost Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides na pšenici u Srbiji

AB  - Osim uopštenih konstatacija da je parazit sočivaste pegavosti pšenice široko rasprostranjen u Srbiji, nema bližih podataka o lokalitetima i intenzitetu njegove pojave, a još manje o štetama koje pričinjava. U 1997. godini pojavu ovog parazita registrovali smo u lokalitetima: Aranđelovac, Bajina Bašta, Čačak, Kikinda, Kragujevac, Kruševac, Negotin, Pančevo, Priština, Smederevo, Stragari, Topola, Vršac, Šabac i Zaječar. lntezitet napada se kretao od nekoliko do 30%, a najčešće se javljao na pšenici kraj reka i nižim delovima parcela. Štetnost P. herpotrichoides ispitivana je u lokalitetu Kragujevac na sorti Srbijanka. U vreme pune zrelosti pšenice merena je visina i uzimani su uzorci klasova zdravih i bolesnih biljaka sa 1 m2 u četiri ponavljanja. Utvrđen je značajan uticaj P. herpotrichoides na visinu biljaka, broj klasova po m2 i prinos zrna. Visina obolelih biljaka je iznosila 65,09 cm, a zdravih 99,04 cm. Prosečan broj klasova po m2 na obolelom delu parcele je bio 352,5, a na zdravom 545,7. To pokazuje da mnogi rano oboleli izdanci nisu klasali. Osim toga, utvrđeno je da ovaj parazit prouzrokuje šturost zrna i smanjenje prinosa za 68,09%. Široka rasprostranjenost i visoka destruktivnost parazita sočivaste pegavosti ukazuju da može pričiniti velike štete u proizvodnji pšenice.

Effectiveness of wheat genes for stem rust resistance

AB  - The wheat stem rust, caused by Puccinia graminis Pers. f. sp. tritici Erikss. et Henn., has been observed in many locations in Yugoslavia. It occurs frequently in hilly regions in which the vegetation period is longer. However, intensity of its attack is relatively low and epidemics have not been noticed for a long time. The use of resistant cultivars is the most effective, economical and environmentally safe means of control. The base for a successful selection of wheat for resistance to the agent of stem rust is the knowledge of host- parasite interaction. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of wheat genes for resistance to different pathotypes of stem rust in Yugoslavia. The most effective genes of wheat to stem rust resistance in Yugoslavia in 1995 and 1996 were Sr 9e (98.76-100%), Sr 11 (88.82-96.76%), Sr 26 (92.55-96.30%), Sr 29 (95.66-99.54%), Sr 31 (93.17-94.45%), Sr 32 (82.61-95.84%) and Sr 33 (99.08-99.38%).

AB  - U radu je prikazana otpornost novih linija ječma, koje su prijavljene Komisiji za priznavanje poljoprivrednog bilja, prema Puccinia hordei. Utvrđeno je da je većina ispitivanih linija osetljiva prema ovom parazitu, ali da postoje i otporne. Prosečan koeficijent infekcije u 1995. godini je bio veći kod jarih, a u 1996. godini kod ozimih linija.
AB  - The barley leaf rust, caused by biotrophic fungus Puccinia hordei Otth., is one of the most important disease in Yugoslavia. In this paper resistance of 14 winter and 12 spring barley new lines in J 995, and 18 winter and 16 spring lines in 1996 was investigated. The obtained results demonstrated that most of the barley lines were susceptible to leaf rust, but some of them were resistant. The mean coefficient of infection in 1995 were higher on spring and in 1996 on winter barley lines.

AB  - Prikazani su rezultati trogodišnjih (1995-1997) proučavanja populacije Erysiphe graminis hordei korišćenjem pokretnih rasadnika. Utvrđeno je da svi ispitivani Ml geni otpornosti imaju odgovarajuće gene virulentnosti u populaciji ovog parazita. Najmanju učestalost su imale v-05, V-p i V-(1402) virulentnosti. Dinamika razvoja ovog parazita u prolećnom delu vegetacije ječma je bila različita po godinama. Maksimalne vrednosti koeficijenta infekcije u 1995. godini su zabeležene krajem aprila, a u 1997. godini početkom maja.

In 1996 powdery mildew severity was very low, because of unfavourable environmental conditions for disease development.

Pirevina kao izvor gena otpornosti prema rđama pšenice

AB  - U radu je prikazana efikasnost Sr24, Sr25, sr26 i Lr19, Lr24 i Lr29 gena otpornosti poreklom iz pirevine prema stabljičnoj i lisnoj rđi pšenice. lstaknuta je visoka efikasnost Sr24 i Sr26 gena prema različitim patotipovima Puccinia graminis tritici u fazi sejanaca, kao i njihova niska efikasnost u odraslom stadijumu u lokalitetima Kragujevac i Zaječar. Prema Puccinia recondita tritici vrlo efikasni su bill Lr19 i Lr24 geni. U našoj populaciji parazita nije bilo alela virulentnosti za Lr19 gen. Geni iz pirevine (posebno Agropyron elongatum) su veoma značajni u selekcionom programu pšenice kao donori Sr i Lr gena otpornosti prema rđama.
AB  - The paper showed effectiveness of Sr24, Sr25, sr26, Lr19, Lr24 and Lr29 resistance genes from the quitch grass to wheat stem and leaf rust. Genes from the quitch grass (especially Agropyron elongatum) are very important in breeding program of wheat, as donors of Sr and Lr genes of resistance to rusts.

Geni iz pirevine (posebno Agropyron elongatum) su veoma značajni u selekcionom programu pšenice kao donori Sr i Lr gena otpornosti prema rđama., The paper showed effectiveness of Sr24, Sr25, sr26, Lr19, Lr24 and Lr29 resistance genes from the quitch grass to wheat stem and leaf rust. Genes from the quitch grass (especially Agropyron elongatum) are very important in breeding program of wheat, as donors of Sr and Lr genes of resistance to rusts.",

AB  - In this paper resistance of nearly isogenic lines with genes Sr32, Sr33, Lr9, Lr21 and Lr22 derived from Ae. squarrosa and Ae. umbellulata is presented. The genes Sr32 and Sr33 showed good effectiveness to different pathotypes of wheat stem rust in seedling stage. But, in adult stage lines with this genes were moderately resistant to very susceptible in Kragujevac and Zajeear. The most effective was gene Lr9. In our population of wheat leaf rust there is no alleles of virulence to this gene. The lines with other two genes (Lr21 and Lr22) were susceptible in Novi Sad and moderately susceptible in Kragujevac. Studies showed that Aegilops spp. is very important source of Sr and Lr genes of resistance.

AB  - U radu je dat pregled efikasnosti nekih Ml gena otpornosti ječma prema prouzrokovaču pepelnice u pet lokaliteta na području Srbije (Kragujevac, Zaječar, Kruševac, Vršac i Peć). Utvrđeno je da su najefikasniji bili geni Ml-a16, Ml-a17, Ml-a18, Ml-a19 i ml-05. Zadovoljavajući stepen efikasnosti ispoljili su i Ml-a, Ml-a3, Ml-a9, Ml-a13, Ml-p i Ml-at, dok su ostali geni (Ml-a6, Ml-a8, Ml-a12, Ml-g, Ml-c, Ml-k, Ml-nn, Ml-41/145, Ml-h i Ml-La) bili neefikasni.
AB  - The barley powdery mildew is very spread in Serbia. Good results in the control of this disease could be realized by growing of resistant cultivars. Investigation was carried out during 1991-1992 in five localities (Kragujevac, Zaječar, Kruševac, Vršac and Peć). Artificial inoculation was made only in Kragujevac. The results show that the genes ml-05, Ml-a16, Ml-a17, Ml-a18 and Ml-a19 were the most effective. There are no virulence alleles to this genes in our population. The genes Ml-a, Ml-a3. Ml-a9, Ml-a13, Ml-p i Ml-at had the middle efficiency (coefficient of infection 2,2-9,8). The other genes (MI-a6, Ml-a8, Ml-a12, Ml-g, Ml-c, Ml-k, Ml-nn, Ml-41/145, Ml-h and Ml-La) were not effective .

Pathotypes of the wheat stem rust in Serbia

AB  - The wheat stem rust pathotypes occurrence on wheat, grass and Berberis in Serbia, during the period 1991-1993 in this paper was shown. A total 833 isolates were studied (576 from wheat,159 from grasses and 98 from Berberis) and 62 pathotypes were found. Pathotypes RHT was the most frequent on wheat, and BBB on grasses and Berberis. By additional isogenic lines, 144 virulence formulas, in structure of population were established.

Selekcija pšenice na otpornost prema prouzrokovaču pepelnice

AB  - Pepelnica je u nas česta i ekonomski značajna bolest pšenice. Njena uspešna zaštita od prouzrokovača ove bolesti (Erysiphe graminis tritici) može da se ostvari gajenjem otpornih sorata. U cilju stvaranja takvih sorata obavljena su mnogobrojna ukrštanja između različitih genotipova pšenice. Kao receptori gena otpornosti korišćene su poznate komercijalne sorte pšenice Kragujevčanka 56, Jugoslavija, Balkan, Kavkaz, Posavka 2, Skopljanka, Partizanka, Biserka, i dr., a kao donori genotipovi pšenice iz Međunarodnog rasadnika pepelnice FR 8119, FR 845, SC 780934, D-12, GA 83021, MD 81012-33, OK 82377, GP 8700, SMH 1428 i domaće populacije P 596-III/16 i P 518-I/5. Ovi genotipovi su se u našim prethodnim visegodišnjim ispitivanjima pokazali veoma otpornim, što govori da poseduju različite Pm gene otpornosti.

abstract = "Pepelnica je u nas česta i ekonomski značajna bolest pšenice. Njena uspešna zaštita od prouzrokovača ove bolesti (Erysiphe graminis tritici) može da se ostvari gajenjem otpornih sorata. U cilju stvaranja takvih sorata obavljena su mnogobrojna ukrštanja između različitih genotipova pšenice. Kao receptori gena otpornosti korišćene su poznate komercijalne sorte pšenice Kragujevčanka 56, Jugoslavija, Balkan, Kavkaz, Posavka 2, Skopljanka, Partizanka, Biserka, i dr., a kao donori genotipovi pšenice iz Međunarodnog rasadnika pepelnice FR 8119, FR 845, SC 780934, D-12, GA 83021, MD 81012-33, OK 82377, GP 8700, SMH 1428 i domaće populacije P 596-III/16 i P 518-I/5. Ovi genotipovi su se u našim prethodnim visegodišnjim ispitivanjima pokazali veoma otpornim, što govori da poseduju različite Pm gene otpornosti.",

AB  - Pepelnica je veoma rasprostranjena i ekonomski značajna bolest pšenice u Srbiji. Stvaranjem i gajenjem otpornih sorata ostvaruje se najuspešnija zaštita. Ukrštanjem između osetljivih komercijalnih sorata (kragujevčanka 56, jugoslavija, balkan, kavkaz, posavka 2, skopljanka, partizanka i biserka) i donora Pm gena (FR 845, FR 8119, SC 780934, D-12, GA 83021, P 596-111/16 i P 518/1-5) stvoreno je 156 linija. Pedigre metoda je korišćena kod potomstva. Ova istraživanja su pokazala da se otpornost, uglavnom, nasleđivala dominantno. Otpornost donora je kontrolisana sa jednim, dva ili tri dominantna gena. Kod nekih kombinacija utvrđeno je komplementarno delovanje gena. Proučavana je, takođe, i produktivnost hibrida. Najznačajnije su linije koje su dobijene ukrštanjem skopljanka x FR 845, partizanka x FR 845 i jugoslavija x FR 8119. Njihov prinos zrna po glavnom stablu je bio od 2,38 do 4,01 grama. Za buduća istraživanja izdvojene su linije sa dobrom otpornošću i visokom produktivnošću.
AB  - Powdery mildew is a very frequent and economically important wheat disease in Serbia. An increasing importance is paid to the selection and growing of resistant cultivars. By crossing susceptible commercial cultivars (kragujevčanka 56, jugoslavija, balkan, kavkaz, posavka 2, skopljanka, partizanka and biserka) and Pm genes donor (FR 845, FR 8119, SC 780934, D-12, GA 83021, P 596-IIl/16 and P 518-1/5), 156 new lines were created. The pedigree method was used with the progenies. These studies showed that the inheritance of resistance was dominant. The resistance or donors was controlled by one, two or three dominant genes. In some combinations complementary effect of genes was found. Indicators of productivity of hybrids were also studied. The most important were the lines made by crossing skopljanka x FR 845, partizanka x FR 845 and jugoslavija x FR 8119. Their grain yield ranged from 2,38 to 4,01 grams per ear. Lines with good resistance and high productivity were separated for further investigation .

AB  - The paper deals with the virulence of genotypes which are causal
agents of powdery mildew in wheat proliferated by sexual reproduction,
in 1988 and 1989. Analysis of 735 isolates showed that dominant genes
had virulent formulae 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 5, 6, 8/4a and 1, 2, 3a, 3c, 5, 6,
8/3b, 4a. 45 genotypes were found in 1988 and 83 in 1989. Frequencies
of V-3b and V-4a were the lowest. Most genotypes possessed 5 to 8
virulent genes.
