AB  - Kada je reč o očuvanju zemljišta, kišne gliste se smatraju važnim organizmima koji pomažu u poboljšanju zdravlja zemljišta i unapređenju fizičkih i hemijskih svojstava. Stoga je od suštinske važnosti znati kako kišne gliste mogu uticati na mineralnu ishranu, porast i prinos kukuruza. Način korišćenja zemljišta, a naročito obrada mogu promeniti brojnost kišnih glista u zavisnosti od dubine, intenziteta i vremena izvođenja. U našim agroekološkim uslovima trenutno ne postoji dovljono informacija o brojnosti glista i uticaju na svojstva obradivog zemljišta. Smatra se da Lumbricus terrestris može stabilizovati strukturu zemljišta zbog svoje aktivnosti ukopavanja i lučenja sluzi, ali uticaj na različite sisteme obrade zemljišta još uvek nije u potpunosti objašnjen i cilj ove studije je bio da se razjasne efekti na strukturu zemljišta u višegodišnjem stacionarnom eksperiment na černozemu.
AB  - When it comes to soil functions earthworms are considered important organisms in the soil helping to increase soil health and to improve soil’s physical and chemical properties. It is therefore fundamental to know how earthworms can affect maize growth, plant nutrition and crop yields. Management practices like soil tillage can alter earthworm abundance depending on tillage depth, intensity and timing. Currently, there is lack of information on earthworm’s abundance and their effects on arable soil in our agroecological conditions. Lumbricus terrestris can stabilize soil structure due to their burrowing activity and mucus secretion, but the impact of L. terrestris in different soil tillage systems is not yet fully understood and therefore the aim of this study was to elucidate these effects on soil structure in a long-term soil tillage experiment in Serbia.

AB  - Organska poljoprivreda kao sistem održive poljoprivredne proizvodnje danas predstavlja neizostavnu
kariku u razvoju lanaca vrednosti proizvoda koji imaju visoku nutritivnu vrednost i ekološke
karakteristike. S obzirom da soja predstavlja važan izvor proteina i ulja, kako za ishranu ljudi, tako i za
ishranu životinja i spada u jednu od najvažnijih ratarskih kultura, kontinuiran rad na unapređenju
tehnologije gajenja je od velike važnosti. Istraživanje je imalo za cilj da predstavi mogućnost i važnost
primene đubriva u organskoj prioizvodnji soje. Testirana su tri preparata (Italpollina NPK 4:4:4, Biofor
soja, Wuxal ascofol) na sorti soje NS Kaća. Analizom dobijenih rezultata utvrđeno je da se masa 1000
zrna statistički značajno razlikovala između tretmana, dok je na prinos zrna soje pozitivno reagovalo
đubrenje u odnosu na kontrolnu varijantu, ali nije utvrđena statistička značajnost. Najveći prinos
utvrđen je na tretmanu sa Biofor soja (4,3 t ha -1
). Rezultati dobijeni nakon jednogodišnjih istraživanja
mogu da posluže kao smernica za unapređenje tehnologije gajenja soje u organskoj proizvodnji, ali je
potrebno sprovesti dalja istraživanja o primeni različitih folijarnih đubriva u različitim fazama rasta,
kao i u različitim dozama.
AB  - Organic agriculture as a system of sustainable agricultural production today is essential part in the development of value chains of products that have high nutritional value and environmental characteristics. Soybean is an important source of protein and oil, both for food and feed and belongs to one of the most important field crops. Continuous work on improving cultivation technology in organic systems of agricultural production is of great importance for expanding sustainable farming systems. Limited mineral nutrition in organic production has resulted in a large number of studies that were aimed primarily at increasing yields, as well as the quality of the final product, where the application of foliar fertilizers and fertilizers generally occupies an important place. The research aimed to present the possibility and importance of the application of fertilizers in organic soybean production. Three preparations (Italpollina NPK 4:4:4, Biofor soja, Wuxal ascofol) on soybean variety NS Kaća were tested. The analysis of the obtained results showed that the weight of 1000 grains differed statistically significantly between treatments, while fertilization reacted positively to the soybean grain yield in relation to the control variant, but no statistical significance was determined. The highest yield was determined on the treatment with Biofor soja (4.3 t ha-1 ).The results obtained after one year of research can serve as a guideline for improving the technology of soybean cultivation in organic production, but it is necessary to conduct further research on the application of different foliar fertilizers at different stages of growth, as well as in different doses.

Grain yield, yield components and protein content of organic spelt wheat (Triticum speltaL.) grown in different agro-ecological conditions of northern Serbia

AB  - Spelt wheat (Triticum spelta L.) is regarded as a crop with high nutritional properties. Cultivar Nirvana was analyzed on nine locations in semiarid conditions of northern Serbia in order to assess the effects of different agroecological conditions on the organic spelt wheat production, grain yield and yield components, as well as the quality of the spelt wheat. The highest dehulled grain yield was obtained in Nadalj organic farm (3.98 t ha-1) on a carbonated chernozem, and the highest protein content in whole grain flour was found in organic spelt wheat from Pančevo (13.94%). Correlation analysis showed significant positive correlations among grain yield, spike length, spike weight, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and harvest index and among plant height, spike length, weight spike, and grain weight per spike. Our study indicated that growing spelt wheat in northern Serbia could result in higher grain yield, but protein content depended on crop management on each location.
AB  - Zbog svojih nutritivnih osobina, krupnik (Triticum spelta L.) je sve više u interesovanju organskih proizvođača i potrošača. U cilju unapređenja organske proizvodnje i uvođenja alternativnih kultura, sprovedeno je istraživanje na ovoj vrsti pšenice kako bi se sagledao uticaj različitih agroekoloških uslova na prinos i komponente prinosa, kao i kvalitet krupnika. Predmet istraživanja bila je sorta krupnika Nirvana, a istraživanje je obavljeno na 9 različitih lokaliteta u Vojvodini i u okolini Beograda na kojima je krupnik gajen u sistemu organske proizvodnje. Najveći prinos oljuštenog zrna krupnika utvrđen je na organskoj parceli u Nadalju sa 3,98 t/ha na karbonatnom černozemu, a najveći sadržaj proteina (13,94%) u integralnom brašnu sa organske parcele iz Pančeva. Korelaciona analiza je pokazala da na ispitivanim lokalitetima postoji statistički značajna korelacija između prinosa krupnika i dužine klasa, mase klasa, broja zrna, mase 1000 zrna i žetvenog indeksa, a takođe postoji uzajamni uticaj između visine biljaka, dužine klasa, mase klasa i mase zrna po klasu. Iako je krupnik relativno skromnih zahteva prema plodnosti zemljišta i podnosi nepotpunu agrotehniku, utvrđeno je da odlično reaguje na đubrenje stajnjakom sa produženim dejstvom i na intenzivniju agrotehniku pri kojoj se mogu postići prinosi i do 4 t ha-1 oljuštenog zrna. Najveći uticaj na prinos su imali vreme setve, raspored i količina padavina, kao i obezbeđenost biljaka potrebnim hranivima. Takođe, utvrđeno je da pravilna agrotehnika može da ublaži negativni uticaj nepovoljnih uslova spoljašnje sredine, što je uticalo da se na različitim lokalitetima ostvare visoki prinosi.

The effects of mulch and bio-fertilizers on soil properties in organic soybean and buckwheat production

AB  - Buckwheat and soybean are regarded as important crops in organic production and their production could contribute to achieving farm sustainability. However, this significance derives from a preceding effect, but less research is done on these crops as major crops. The aim of this study is to examine soil properties under different mulches and bio-fertilizers in soybean NS Kaća and buckwheat Novosadska. The experiment was set up in semiarid conditions in the Center for organic production in Selenča with 3 types of mulches: wood chips, straw, living mulch as well as commercial fertilizers and soil enhancers: organic NPK fertilizer, Ascophyllum nodosum extract and microbiological stimulator. Mulches were helpful in maintaining the physical properties of soil, but they could not preserve the chemical properties of soil. Buckwheat manifested better chemical and physical soil properties compared to soybean. Our results showed differences regarding mulch application in terms of impact on soil, which could serve as a basis for improving the management of buckwheat and soybean under organic production systems in semiarid conditions.
AB  - Heljda i soja smatraju se važnim kulturama u organskoj proizvodnji i njihova proizvodnja mogla bi pridonijeti postizanju održivosti poljoprivrednih gospodarstava. Međutim, ovaj značaj proizlazi iz prethodnog učinka, ali manje je istraživanja provedeno na ovim usjevima kao glavnim usjevima. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati svojstava tla pod različitim malčevima i biološkim gnojivima u soji NS Kaća i heljdi Novosadska. Pokus je postavljen u semiaridnim uvjetima u Centru za organsku proizvodnju u Selenči s tri vrste malča: drvnom sječkom, slamom, živim malčem, kao s i komercijalnim gnojivima i ojačivačima tla: organskim NPK gnojivom, ekstraktom Ascophyllum nodosum i mikrobiološkim stimulatorom. Malčevi su bili korisni u održavanju fizikalnih svojstava tla, ali nisu mogli sačuvati kemijska svojstva tla. Heljda se očitovala boljim kemijskim i fizikalnim svojstvima tla u odnosu na soju. Naši rezultati pokazali su razlike u primjeni malča u smislu utjecaja na tlo, što bi moglo poslužiti kao osnova za poboljšanje gospodarenja heljdom i sojom u sustavima organske proizvodnje u semiaridnim uvjetima.

Comparative study of growing winter small grain cereals in organic and conventional production systems

AB  - The purpose of this study is to compare the yields and yield components of 3 winter small grain cereals (wheat ('NS 40S'), oat ('NS Jadar') and rye ('NS Savo')) grown in conventional and organic production systems. The experiment was conducted as a block design with three replicates at the Bački Petrovac experiment field of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in 2016/2017. The fertilization of conventional cereals examined was based on mineral fertilization, whereas foliar fertilizers with green microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris) were applied in the organic production system. The results obtained indicate differences in the number of organic and conventional plants per m2 , particularly in the instance of winter wheat (277/m2 in the organic production system and 545/m2 in conventional production system). Relative to all the cereals observed, significantly higher grain yields per ha were determined in the conventional production system as a result of the mineral nitrogen addition. The research has shown that soil fertility and cultural practices play a decisive role in realizing the full yield potential of winter small grain cereals cultivated in the organic farming system.
AB  - U ovom radu analizirana je proizvodnja 3 vrste ozimih žitarica (pšenica - NS 40S, ovas - NS Jadar i raž - NS Savo) kako bismo uporedili prinose i komponente prinosa u konvencionalnom i organskom sistemu, a u cilju unapređenja proizvodnje ovih žitarica u organskom sistemu uzgoja. Istraživanje je sprovedeno tokom 2016. i 2017. godine u Institutu za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, Odeljenju za alternativne kulture i organsku proizvodnju u Bačkom Petrovcu (45° 56' N 20° 12' E). Ogled je postavljen na parcelama površine 1000 m2 , po slučajnom blok sistemu u 3 ponavljanja, sa sojom kao predusevom. Konvencionalni sistem proizvodnje baziran je na primeni mineralnih đubriva, dok su u organskoj primenjena folijarna đubriva na bazi algi (Chlorella vulgaris). Setva je izvršena 16.10.2016., a žetva 8.07.2017. Analizom ispitivanih useva utvrđene su razlike u broju biljaka po m2 , što je posebno bilo izraženo kod ozime pšenice (277 biljaka po m2 u organskoj i 545 bijaka po m2 u konvencionalnoj). Sve žitarice ostvarile su značajno veći prinos zrna po ha u konvencionalnom sistemu kao rezultat dodavanja azota, ali masa zrna po biljci nije se statistički razlikovala u organskoj i konvencionalnoj proizvodnji. U proseku za sve tri žitarice konvencionalni uzgoj značajano je uticao na sledeće morfološke parametre: dužinu klasa (metlice), masu slame po m2 i visina biljke, dok masa klasa (metlice) i masa 1000 zrna nisu bili značajno različiti. Ostvareni prinosi ozimih žitarica u organskoj, iako niži, bili su približni višegodišnjim prosečnim vrednostima prinosa ozimih žitarica u našim proizvodnim uslovima.

AB  - U cilju unapređenja organske proizvodnje razvojem novih tehnologija, primena bioregulatora, organskih i folijarnih đubriva sve više pronalazi mesto u naučno istraživačkom radu, ali i u praksi. Ogled sa ozimom pšenicom sorte NS-40S izveden je u proizvodnoj 2013/2014. godini na sertifikovanoj površini Odeljenja za alternativne kulture u Bačkom Petrovcu. Ogled je izveden po split-plot sistemu u tri ponavljanja. Biljke su folijarno tretirane u sledećim kombinacijama: 1) tečnim đubrivom od koprive; 2) kombinacijom tečnog đubriva od koprive i vodenog ekstrakta rastavića (preparat „508“); 3) bioregulatorom AGROSTEMIN®; 4) kombinacijom bioregulatora AGROSTEMIN®, tečnog đubriva od koprive i preparata „508“ - AKR i 5) glistenjakom. Kontrolne varijante bile su organska pšenica bez tretmana i konvencionalna NS-40S koja je đubrena sa 127 kg N/ha. Tretiranja su obavljena po planu ogleda u aprilu i maju mesecu. Žetva je obavljena u punoj zrelosti.
AB  - In order to contribute to the explanation of the impact of the use of bioregulators, organic and foliar fertilizers on the yield components of wheat, the aim of the research was to perform a comparison of the use of bioregulators, liquid fertilizers and earthworm compost. The field trial with winter wheat NS-40S was carried out on the certified arable land of the Institute of field and vegetable crops in Bački Petrovac. The experiment was conducted in a split plot system with three replications. Plants were foliar treated as followed: 1) liquid fertilizer from nettles; 2) combination of liquid fertilizer of nettles and horsetail water extract (preparation „508“); 3) foliar treatment with Agrostemin®; 4) foliar treatment with Agrostemin® and combination of liquid fertilizer of nettles and horsetail water extract - AKR; 5) earthworm compost liquid foliar fertilizer. The control was untreated organic wheat and conventional (127 kg N/ha). Treatments were apllied according to plan in April and May during tillering and stem extension of winter wheat. Harvest was performed in full maturity.

AB  - A trial involving intercropped and pure stands of carrots 'Nantes' and onions 'Kupusinski jabučar' was conducted on a certified organic farm in Futog. The yield, morphological and nutritional properties of the crops analyzed were determined in the study. Furthermore, the biological efficiency of intercropping was assessed using the relative yield (RYT) and the land use efficiency index (LER). The mixture of crops had influenced the morphological properties examined. In both experimental plant species, the nutritional properties of onions and carrots exhibited a higher content of dry matter (DM) in the double-row growing system without maize gluten meal (onions - 11.42 %, carrots - 10.45 %) compared to single crops. The highest content of β-carotene was determined by alternating single rows of onions and carrots in a plot without the use of gluten (68.94 μg/g DM). The relative yield and the land use efficiency index have shown that there is a biological efficiency of combining carrots and onion as the values obtained are higher than 1. Carrots and black onions are favorable for intercropping because they are complementary, thus interactively contribute to increasing the yield per unit area and improving the nutritional properties.
AB  - Ogled sa združenim i čistim usevima mrkve i crnog luka izveden je na organskoj parceli u Futogu. Određen je prinos sveže mase lukovica i svežeg korena mrkve, utvrđena su morfološka i nutritivna svojstva, a ispitivanjem je ocenjena biološka efikasnost združivanja numeričkim pokazateljima: relativni prinos (RYT) i indeks efikasnosti korišćenja zemljišta (LER). Združivanje useva statistički je značajno uticalo na ispitivana svojstva (masa lukovice, masa korena mrkve, udeo korena mrkve, dužina i broj listova mrkve). U ispitivanju nutritivnih svojstava kod crnog luka i mrkve, veći sadržaj suve materije (SM) kod obe proučavane biljne vrste ustanovljen je u dvoredom združenom usevu bez primene glutena (crni luk - 11,42%; mrkva - 10,45%) u poređenju sa čistim usevima. AB  - By developing consciousnesson about the importance of organic agriculture, as one of the most important methods of a sustainable system, it leads to its gradual development on a global level.The paper outlines the advantages of organic production, both from the aspect of biological diversity of flora and fauna in agrobiotope in relation to conventional production, as well as from the aspect of nutritive values and the absence of residues of pesticides in plant and animal products from certified organic production. One of the biggest challenges at the national level will be to strategically find a solution for the ecologization of small agricultural holders through their inclusion in a sustainable and multifunctional production system, based on the principles of organic agriculture. The directions of the development of organic agriculture will be based on harmonized ecological principles, new results of scientific research with a holistic approach and ecologically acceptable technological and technical solutions.

AB  - There is a large number of annual legume species having an economic importance either on a world or local scale, such as pea (Pisum sativum L.), faba bean (Vicia faba L.), lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.), grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) and vetches (Vicia spp.). All these crops are multi-functional and are used for both human consumption and in animal feeding. Apart from these various food and feed uses, annual legumes may represent a quality green manure, playing one of the most significant roles in organic farming and sustainable agriculture. In addition to their ability to increase soil fertility by a symbiosis with nitrogen-fixation bacteria, annual legumes are able to produce a considerable amount of aboveground biomass, also rich in nitrogen. For instance, aboveground biomass nitrogen yield in grass pea may surpass 300 kg ha-1, while in lentil it is higher than 100 kg ha-1.

AB  - The aim of this research is to examine soil organic carbon (SOC) stock in the South-eastern Panonnian Basin. For estimating the SOC stock 10 different soil types were accessed with 400 soil profiles representing different locations in Vojvodina at 0-30, 30-60 and 60-100 cm depths. Three factors were taken into consideration, soil type being the one with the largest influence on the SOC content. Data collected were plotted on a map by using the Ordinary Kriging method. The results showed differences between soil types and soil depths. At 0-100 cm soil depth, the highest SOC levels were found in Regosols, Vertisols, Gleysols and Chernozems and the lowest in Solonchaks, Fluvisols and Arenosols. On the total of 1,807,073 ha examined, the SOC reserves at 0-30 cm depth were estimated to 122 Mt, whereas total stock in 0-100 cm soil layer was 270 Mt. The results obtained could be valuable for monitoring SOC change and to recommend measures for the conservation of SOC.

Preliminary results of the sugar content of sweet corn cultivated in organic production system

AB  - In organic production systems, production of sweet corn, which is used exclusively for human consumption, can be very important. In such systems, an important role has use of biofertilizers and different species of microorganisms. Investigations were carried out on the experimental field of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, in the Department of Organic agriculture and biodiversity, in 2011, in order to determine whether different treatments with Azotobacter chroococcum and different concentrations of organic fertilizers Guana influence on the concentration of total sugar in the grain. Applied concentration of Azotobacter and foliar application of Guana did not affect the difference in grain moisture, however, significant differences were observed in the total sugar content. Declining concentrations of Azotobacter affected the almost linear decrease in sugar content, while simultaneously increasing the concentration of Guana led to an increase in the total sugar content in grain, mostly in combination with high concentrations of Azotobacter. On average, foliar application of Guana increased the total sugar content of 1.6%.
AB  - U sistemima organske proizvodnje, proizvodnja kukuruza šećerca, koji se isključivo koristi za ljudsku ishranu, može da ima veliku važnost. U takvim sistemima gajenja važnu ulogu ima primena biofertilizatora, odnosno različitih vrsta mikroorganizama koji svojom aktivnošću mogu da utiču na povećanje biogenosti zemljišta i njegovu ukupnu plodnost, dakle i na prinos i kvalitet zdravstveno ispravnijih proizvoda. Istraživanja su izvedena na oglednom polju Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, u Odelenju za organsku poljoprivredu i biodiverzitet u Bačkom Petrovcu, tokom 2011. godine, sa ciljem da se utvrdi da li različiti tretmani sa Azotobacter chroococcum i različite koncentracije organskog đubriva Guana utiču na sadržaj ukupnih šećera u zrnu. Primenjene koncentracije Azotobacter-a i folijarna primena Guana nisu uticale na razlike u vlažnosti zrna, međutim, značajnije razlike uočene su u sadržaju ukupnih šećera. Opadajuće koncentracije Azotobaktera uticale su na gotovo pravolinijsko opadanje sadržaja šećera, dok je istovremeno povećanje koncentracije Guana dovodilo do povećanja sadržaja ukupnih šećera u zrnu, najviše u kombinaciji sa srednjom koncentracijom Azotobaktera. U proseku, folijarno đubrenje Guanom povećalo je sadržaj ukupnih šećera za 1,6%.

abstract = "In organic production systems, production of sweet corn, which is used exclusively for human consumption, can be very important. In such systems, an important role has use of biofertilizers and different species of microorganisms. Investigations were carried out on the experimental field of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, in the Department of Organic agriculture and biodiversity, in 2011, in order to determine whether different treatments with Azotobacter chroococcum and different concentrations of organic fertilizers Guana influence on the concentration of total sugar in the grain. Applied concentration of Azotobacter and foliar application of Guana did not affect the difference in grain moisture, however, significant differences were observed in the total sugar content. Declining concentrations of Azotobacter affected the almost linear decrease in sugar content, while simultaneously increasing the concentration of Guana led to an increase in the total sugar content in grain, mostly in combination with high concentrations of Azotobacter. On average, foliar application of Guana increased the total sugar content of 1.6%., U sistemima organske proizvodnje, proizvodnja kukuruza šećerca, koji se isključivo koristi za ljudsku ishranu, može da ima veliku važnost. U takvim sistemima gajenja važnu ulogu ima primena biofertilizatora, odnosno različitih vrsta mikroorganizama koji svojom aktivnošću mogu da utiču na povećanje biogenosti zemljišta i njegovu ukupnu plodnost, dakle i na prinos i kvalitet zdravstveno ispravnijih proizvoda. Istraživanja su izvedena na oglednom polju Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, u Odelenju za organsku poljoprivredu i biodiverzitet u Bačkom Petrovcu, tokom 2011. godine, sa ciljem da se utvrdi da li različiti tretmani sa Azotobacter chroococcum i različite koncentracije organskog đubriva Guana utiču na sadržaj ukupnih šećera u zrnu. Primenjene koncentracije Azotobacter-a i folijarna primena Guana nisu uticale na razlike u vlažnosti zrna, međutim, značajnije razlike uočene su u sadržaju ukupnih šećera. Opadajuće koncentracije Azotobaktera uticale su na gotovo pravolinijsko opadanje sadržaja šećera, dok je istovremeno povećanje koncentracije Guana dovodilo do povećanja sadržaja ukupnih šećera u zrnu, najviše u kombinaciji sa srednjom koncentracijom Azotobaktera. U proseku, folijarno đubrenje Guanom povećalo je sadržaj ukupnih šećera za 1,6%.",
