AB  - Pepelnica pšenice je ekonomski značajno oboljenje pšenice u Srbiji, čiji je prouzrokovač Blumeria (=Erysiphe) graminis tritici. Javlja se svake godine, a intenzitet zaraze zavisi od otpornosti sorte, agroklimatskih uslova i primenjenih agrotehničkih mera. Mada u Srbiji do sada nije bilo velikih epidemija ovaj patogen ima značajnu ulogu u formiranju prinosa pšenice. Proučavanje virulentnosti populacije B. graminis tritici u Srbiji su pocela 1961, kada su· identifikovane prve fizioloske rase. Početkom osamdesetih godina koncept fizioloških rasa zamenjen proučavanjem populacije patogena na osnovu interakcije gena otpomosti kod domaćina i gena virulentnosti kod patogena po teoriji gen za gen. Seksualni deo populacije patogena praćen je u periodu od 1990 do 2009. godine.

AB  - Blumeria graminis tritici, the causal agent of powdery mildew is a regular and economically important disease of wheat in Serbia. Infection intensity varies depending on wheat variety, climate conditions and agricultural practices. Although there have been no epiphytotics in Serbia yet, this disease can play a significant role in the formation of yield. Successful wheat breeding for resistance to causal agent of powdery mildew is based on the identification of virulence and changes in the pathogen population. In Serbia, continual population surveys started in 196 I, when physiological races were identified, and they continued up to date. In the early 1970s, conventional investigations of physiological races were improved by introducing a survey of the virulence of pathogen populations, based on the interaction between resistance alleles and virulence according to the "gene-for- gene" theory.

AB  - Blumeria graminis tritici, the causal agent of Powdery mildew, is a regular and economically important disease of wheat in Serbia and a major disease problem in wheat crops in Europe, particularly in northern and western parts. Infection intensity vanes in dependence of wheat variety, climate conditions and agricultural practices. Although there have been no epiphytotics in Serbia yet, this disease can play a significant role in yield formation. Successful wheat breeding for resistance to the causal agent of powdery mildew is based on the identification of virulence and changes in the pathogen population. The asexual part of the population of E. graminis tritici consists of patothypes formed by asexual reproduction in spring. The dynamics of the population is ensured by the combination of pathotypes of different origin. This paper reviews the results obtained in the period of 7 years, from 1997 to 2003. The population of B. graminis tritici was studied during wheat vegetation in the spring, using mobile nurseries in the location Rimski Šancevi near Novi Sad.

Effectiveness of wheat genes for stem rust resistance

AB  - The wheat stem rust, caused by Puccinia graminis Pers. f. sp. tritici Erikss. et Henn., has been observed in many locations in Yugoslavia. It occurs frequently in hilly regions in which the vegetation period is longer. However, intensity of its attack is relatively low and epidemics have not been noticed for a long time. The use of resistant cultivars is the most effective, economical and environmentally safe means of control. The base for a successful selection of wheat for resistance to the agent of stem rust is the knowledge of host- parasite interaction. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of wheat genes for resistance to different pathotypes of stem rust in Yugoslavia. The most effective genes of wheat to stem rust resistance in Yugoslavia in 1995 and 1996 were Sr 9e (98.76-100%), Sr 11 (88.82-96.76%), Sr 26 (92.55-96.30%), Sr 29 (95.66-99.54%), Sr 31 (93.17-94.45%), Sr 32 (82.61-95.84%) and Sr 33 (99.08-99.38%).

AB  - Prikazani su rezultati trogodišnjih (1995-1997) proučavanja populacije Erysiphe graminis hordei korišćenjem pokretnih rasadnika. Utvrđeno je da svi ispitivani Ml geni otpornosti imaju odgovarajuće gene virulentnosti u populaciji ovog parazita. Najmanju učestalost su imale v-05, V-p i V-(1402) virulentnosti. Dinamika razvoja ovog parazita u prolećnom delu vegetacije ječma je bila različita po godinama. Maksimalne vrednosti koeficijenta infekcije u 1995. godini su zabeležene krajem aprila, a u 1997. godini početkom maja.
AB  - Spring population of Erysiphe graminis hordei, of the barley pathogen, was analyzed using of mobile nurseries in the Kragujevac locality (Serbia) during the period from 1995 to 1997. There were significant differences in the course of development of this parasite between years and depending on environmental conditions during plant standing in the field. Maximal values of coefficient of infection in 1995 were in V (27-28 of April) and 1997 in VI (8-9 of May) mobile nurseries. In 1996 powdery mildew severity was very low, because of unfavourable environmental conditions for disease development.

Pirevina kao izvor gena otpornosti prema rđama pšenice

AB  - U radu je prikazana efikasnost Sr24, Sr25, sr26 i Lr19, Lr24 i Lr29 gena otpornosti poreklom iz pirevine prema stabljičnoj i lisnoj rđi pšenice. lstaknuta je visoka efikasnost Sr24 i Sr26 gena prema različitim patotipovima Puccinia graminis tritici u fazi sejanaca, kao i njihova niska efikasnost u odraslom stadijumu u lokalitetima Kragujevac i Zaječar. Prema Puccinia recondita tritici vrlo efikasni su bill Lr19 i Lr24 geni. U našoj populaciji parazita nije bilo alela virulentnosti za Lr19 gen. Geni iz pirevine (posebno Agropyron elongatum) su veoma značajni u selekcionom programu pšenice kao donori Sr i Lr gena otpornosti prema rđama.
AB  - The paper showed effectiveness of Sr24, Sr25, sr26, Lr19, Lr24 and Lr29 resistance genes from the quitch grass to wheat stem and leaf rust. Genes from the quitch grass (especially Agropyron elongatum) are very important in breeding program of wheat, as donors of Sr and Lr genes of resistance to rusts.

abstract = "U radu je prikazana efikasnost Sr24, Sr25, sr26 i Lr19, Lr24 i Lr29 gena otpornosti poreklom iz pirevine prema stabljičnoj i lisnoj rđi pšenice. lstaknuta je visoka efikasnost Sr24 i Sr26 gena prema različitim patotipovima Puccinia graminis tritici u fazi sejanaca, kao i njihova niska efikasnost u odraslom stadijumu u lokalitetima Kragujevac i Zaječar. Prema Puccinia recondita tritici vrlo efikasni su bill Lr19 i Lr24 geni. U našoj populaciji parazita nije bilo alela virulentnosti za Lr19 gen. Geni iz pirevine (posebno Agropyron elongatum) su veoma značajni u selekcionom programu pšenice kao donori Sr i Lr gena otpornosti prema rđama., The paper showed effectiveness of Sr24, Sr25, sr26, Lr19, Lr24 and Lr29 resistance genes from the quitch grass to wheat stem and leaf rust. Genes from the quitch grass (especially Agropyron elongatum) are very important in breeding program of wheat, as donors of Sr and Lr genes of resistance to rusts.",

AB  - Since the early seventies, winter wheat varieties from the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad have become dominant in Yugoslav production, covering 60-80% of the acreage in wheat. Several varieties, such as Novosadska rana 2, Balkan, Partizanka and Yugoslavia, were, and in some regions still are, the most important. Very often they appear as parents in combinations the progeny of which was used to create new varieties. Fortunately, certain new genotypes from the same cross as Europe, France, Italy (Talent x Novosadska rana 2) covered a large area (40- 50%) during the drought period of 1989-1993. when the development of Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici was reduced. Those varieties, and Novosadska rana 2 for its part, were the cause of the 1994 epiphytotic. From that time on, their importance in production decreased in comparison with varieties with higher resistance levels.

AB  - Ozimi i jari genotipovi ječma izabrani su na osnovu različitog stepena otpornosti prema parazitu Rhynchosporium secalis (osetljivi, srednje otporni i otporni). Veštačka inokulacija 15 ozimih i devet (9) jarih genotipova ječma vršena je u poljskim uslovima u različitim fenofazama razvoja biljaka (vlatanje, klasanje, cvetanje i mlečna zrelost). Za inokulaciju biljaka ječma korišćena je populacija parazita sastavljena od 52 izolata različite virulentnosti. Suspenzija micelije i konidija pripremljena je miksiranjem čistih kultura uz dodatak destilovane vode. Koncentracija inokuluma bila je 6 x 10 3 konidija/ml. Nanošenje suspenzije vršeno je ručnom prskalicom zapremine 0,5 I. Visoka relativna vlažnost vazduha postignuta je prekrivanjem inokulisanih biljaka navlaženim polietilenskim kesama u trajanju od 24 časa. Očitavanje simptoma bolesti na inokulisanim biljkama vršeno je posle 20 dana po skali James-a i sar. (1971).

AB  - Rhynchosporium secalis (Oud.) Davis, je prouzrokovač sive pegavosti lista ječma (prigor). Prisustvo ove bolesti zabeleženo je u blizu 50 zemalja. U našoj zemlji prve podatke o pojavi gljive Rhynchosporium secalis objavila je Lucic (1962). Jenkins i Jemett (1967) i James i sar. (1968), navode da biljke ječma zaražene ovom gljivom mogu ostvariti 35-40% manji prinos. U našoj zemlji ne postoje podaci o štetnosti ovog oboljenja.

AB  - Prikazana je efikasnost nekih Sr i Lr gena otpornosti koji potiču od Aegilops prema različitim palotipovima prouzrokovača stabljične i lisne rđe pšenice u nas. lstaknuta je visoka efikasnost Sr32 i Sr33 gena u fazi sejanaca, kao i njihova nedovoljna efikasnost u fazi odraslih biljaka u Kragujevcu i Zaječaru. Prema prouzrokovaču lisne rđe efikasan je bio jedino gen Lr9, dok su geni Lr2 I i Lr22 bili neefikasni u Novom Sadu i srednje efikasni u Kragujevcu.
AB  - In this paper resistance of nearly isogenic lines with genes Sr32. Sr33, Lr9, Lr'21 and Lr'22 derived from Ac. squarrosa and Ae. umbellulata is presented. The genes Sr32 and Sr33 showed good effectiveness lo different pathotypes of wheat stem rust in seedling stage. But. in adult stage lines with this genes were moderately resistant to very susceptible in Kragujevac and Zaječar The most effective was gene Lr9. In our population of wheal leaf rust there is no alleles of virulence to this gene. The lines with other two genes (Lr'2: and Lr22) were susceptible in Novi Sad and moderately susceptible in Kragujevac.

Bespolna i polna populacija Erysiphe graminis tritici na sorti ozime pšenice Italija

AB  - Uvođenjem u proizvodnju, nova sorta deluje na smanjenje frekvencije virulentnih gena u populaciji patogena. Uticaj sorte na promenu virulentnosti populacije Erysiphe graminis tritici pratili smo na novostvorenom genotipu ozime pšenice (sorta Italija, priznata 1989. godine).

Bespolna i polna populacija Erysiphe graminis tritici na sorti ozime pšenice Italija

AB  - Izneti su rezultati proučavanja virulentnosti bespolne i polne populacije Erysiphe graminis tritici na sorti ltalija (priznata 1989), sa ciljem da se utvrdi uticaj sorte na promenu virulentnosti populacije parazita. Bespolna populacija gljive je praćena tokom vegetacije pšenice na donjem, srednjem i gornjem lišću, a tokom jeseni na samoniklim biljkama. Polna populacija dobijena je analizom uzoraka pšenice sa kleistotecijama iz razlicitih lokaliteta. Za analizu virulentnosti bespolne i polne populacije korišćeno je 19 izogenih linija i sorata sa poznatim Pm genima za otpornost prema E. graminis tritici i linija C-39 sa nepoznatim genima za otpornost. Bespolna populacija gljive na donjem lišću bila je veoma virulentna, jer je sadržavala 16-17 gena. U početnoj populaciji efikasni su bili geni Pm 3b, kombinacija gena Pm 5 +6 i linija C-39 (efikasnost 100%) i gen Pm 9 (efikasnost 75%). Tokom vegetacije geni Pm 3b i Pm 9 postali su neefikasni, dok su kombinacije gena Pm 5 +6 i geni iz linije C-39 zadržali efikasnost iz početne populacije.
AB  - The paper presents the results of the study on the virulence of the sexual and asexual population of Erysiphe graminis tritici on the variety Italy (approved in 1989) with the objective of assessing the effect of the variety on the change of parasite population virulence. The asexual population of the fungus was observed in the course of wheat growing on low, middle and upper leaves and during autumn on growing wild plants. The sexual population was obtained on analyzing wheat samples with cleistothecium from different locations. Nineteen isogenic lines and varieties with known Pm genes for the resistance to E. graminis tritici and the line C-39 with known resistance genes were used for the analysis of virulence of the asexual and sexual population.

at different intervals.
