Abstract
Climate change is a significant shift in average weather conditions, expressed in extreme weather, higher temperatures, elevated atmospheric CO2 levels, and water deficiency. It strongly influences agricultural production and cultivation practices of all major crops. In addition, climate change provides novel challenges and potential opportunities for cultivated plant species and crop breeding. The challenge posed by climate change has led terms such as climate-smart agriculture, climate-smart crops, or climate-resilient crops to become famous. 6.1. Importance to adapt crops to new and changing environments 6.2. Utilizing existing and creating new genetic variability 6.3. Development of climate resilience in major crops 6.4. Genomics strategy for the development of climate resilient crops 6.5. Biometrical tools for envirotyping
