AB  - The exceedance in the critical load of nitrogen compounds is used by the European Environment Agency as an indicator of the biodiversity loss risk. This paper provides a general overview of continental saline habitats vulnerability (Slatine - in Serbian) located in central Banat within the National Ecological Network, caused by the deposition of nitrogen compounds. These compounds originate from manure of selected category of animals raised in settlements located in the vicinity of protected areas. The data on short-range deposition of nitrogen compounds within two zones were used for determining the areas of impact: the zone of probable impact (0-500 m) and the zone of potential impact (500-2000 m). According to the calculation results, the most vulnerable locations which, for the most part, belong to 'Rusanda' protected area, are the pastures directly surrounding village Kumane, pastures bordering Rusanda salty lake, including the lake itself.
AB  - Prekoračenja kritičnih opterećenja azotnim jedinjenjima se koriste kao indikatori rizika gubitka biodiverziteta od strane Evropske agencije za životnu sredinu. U radu je dat okvirni prikaz ugroženosti slatinskih staništa nacionalne ekološke mreže koja je uzrokovana taloženjem azotnih jedinjenja iz stajnjaka izabranih životinja, poreklom iz naselja koja se nalaze u okruženju zaštićenih područja srednjeg dela Banata. Za određivanje oblasti uticaja korišćeni su podaci o kratkom dometu taloženja azotnih jedinjenja, unutar dva pojasa: pojas verovatnog uticaja (od granice zaštićenog područja do 500 m) i pojas mogućeg uticaja (500-2000 m). Na osnovu rezultata proračuna, kao posebno ugroženi lokaliteti izdvajaju se pašnjačke površine u neposrednom okruženju naselja Kumane koje najvećim delom pripadaju zaštićenom području 'Rusanda', pašnjaci uz Rusandu, kao i samo jezero.

Domestic cultivars of perennial legumes: Development and quantitative traits

AB  - The paper reviews the results of breeding and quantitative traits of domestic cultivars of alfalfa, red clover, birdefoot trefoil, white clover and esparcet. Using different sources of genetic variability and appropriate breeding methods, 24 alfalfa cultivars, 10 red clover cultivars, 5 birdefoot trefoil cultivars, and one cultivar of each white clover and esparcet have been developed. Based on long-term trials conducted under the different agroecological conditions of the country, it was concluded that the domestic perennial legumes have high production potentials for yields of green forage (OF) and dry matter (DM). The domestic alfalfa cultivars produced on average 65.6 t ha-1 OF, or 15.3 t ha-1 DM. DM quality was very good - the average content of crude proteins (CP) was 199.6 g ka-1 DM, crude cellulose (CC) 261.8 g ka-1 DM and Pi-free extract (BEM) 392.0 g ka-1 DM. The respective average values for the red clover cultivars were 52.4 t ha-1 OF, 11.2 t ha-1 DM, 195.6 g kg-1 CP, 220.4 g ka-1 CC and 440.8 g kg-1 BEM. The respective average values for the birdsfoot trefoil cultivars were 52.9 t ha-1 QF, 14.1 t ha-1 DM, 199.7 g ka-1 CP, 274.8 g ka-1 CC and 397.7 g ka-1 BEM. Although the white clover cultivar K-33 and the esparcet cultivar Krajina were first of their kind developed in our country, their production potentials and quality were very good.
AB  - U radu se ističu rezultati oplemenjivanja i kvantitativna svojstva domaćih sorti lucerke, crvene deteline, žutog zvezdana, bele deteline i esparzete. Korišćenjem različitih izvora genetičke varijabilnosti i odgovarajućih metoda oplemenjivanja u Srbiji su priznate 24 sorte lucerke, 10 crvene deteline, pet žutog zvezdana i po jedna sorta bele deteline i esparzete. Na osnovu višegodišnjih rezultata istraživanja, u veoma različitim agroekološkim uslovima domaće sorte višegodišnjih leguminoza se odlikuju visokim proizvodnim potencijalom za prinos zelene krme (ZK), odnosno suve materije (SM). Sa domaćim sortama lucerke ostvareno je prosečno 65,6 t ha-1 ZK odnosno 15,3 t ha-1 SM. Kvalitet SM je bio veoma dobar, a ostvareno je prosečno sirovih proteina (SP) 199,6 g kg-1 SM, sirove celuloze (SC) 261,8 g kg-1 SM i udeo bezazotnih ekstraktivnih materija (BEM) 392,0 g kg-1 SM. Sa sortama crvene deteline ostvareno je prosečno 52,4 t ha-1 ZK, odnosno 11,2 t ha-1 SM sa udelom SP 195,6 g kg-1 SM, SC 220,4 g kg-1 i BEM 440,8 g kg-1 SM. Sorte žutog zvezdana su ispoljile visok proizvodni potencijal za prinos biomase (52,9 t ha-1 ZK, odnosno 14,1 t ha-1 SM) vrlo dobrog kvaliteta suve materije (SP 199,7 g kg-1 SM, SC 274,8 g kg-1 SM, BEM 397,7 g kg-1 SM). I pored toga što sorta bele deteline K-33 i esparzeta Krajina predstavljaju početne rezultate u oplemenjivanju ovih biljaka, one se odlikuju vrlo dobrim proizvodnim potencijalom za prinos biomase i kvalitetom suve materije.

AB  - A diallel cross including five divergent red clover genotypes (two varieties: Junior and Diana, and three populations: Vlaška, BL-3 and M-ll) has been used in this study. The obtained progenies were tested for stem length, yield of green mass per plant, beginning of flowering and persistence (estimates of plants surviving in the third year: 1 - 9). These traits were analyzed for mode of inheritance, gene effects and heritability. The analysis of phenotypic variance showed that the additive gene action played the dominant role in the inheritance of stem length and yield of green mass per plant. Similar importance of the additive and non-additive components of genotypic variance and low values of the narrow-and wide-sense heritability (hČ = 22.64 % and h£= 41.51 %, respectively) were established for the inheritance of persistence, indicating an increased influence of environmental factors in the inheritance of this trait. Higher importance of the dominant gene action was found only for the inheritance of the beginning of flowering in 2001.
AB  - U radu je korišćeno pet divergentnih genotipova crvene deteline (dve sorte Junior, Diana i tri populacije: Vlaška, BL-3, M-11) koji su dialelno ukršteni, nakon čega je u dvogodišnjem periodu (2001-2002) izvršeno testiranje dobijenog potomstva za sledeće osobine (dužina stabljike, prinos zelene mase po biljci, vreme početka cvetanja i perzistentnost). Proučavani su način nasleđivanja, efekat gena, heritabilnost, kao i koeficijenti aditivne genetičke i fenotipske varijanse ispitivanih osobina. Analizom fenotipske varijanse može se zaključiti da je aditivan način delovanja gena imao dominantnu ulogu u nasleđivanju: dužine stabljike i prinosa zelene mase po biljci, a kao najčešći način nasleđivanja ispoljila se parcijalna dominacija. Podjednak značaj, kako aditivne, tako i neaditivne komponente genotipske varijanse je utvrđen u nasleđivanju perzistentnosti. Veće učešće dominantne varijanse u ukupnoj genetičkoj varijansi, kao i niska vrednosti heritabilnosti u užem smislu (hn 2) je dobijena: za vreme početka cvetanja crvene deteline (16,47 %) u 2001. godini.

Effect of irrigation and cutting intensity on yield of alfalfa

AB  - The paper deals with the effects of irrigation and cutting intensity on the yields of forage and hay in alfalfa. In 2005 and 2006, under the conditions of irrigation after cutting, the average yields of green forage and hay were 53.45 t·ha-1 and 12.50 t·ha-1, respectively. The respective values in the variant of irrigation at 60% FWC were 53.511 a-1 and 12.24 t·ha-1. These yields were highly significant in relation to the average yields of the control, 50.58 t·ha-1 and 11.62 t·ha-1, respectively. In the fourth and fifth years of production, the systems of four and five cuts produced 49.52 t·ha-1 and 55.45 t·ha-1 of green forage, respectively. The difference was highly significant. The yields of hay amounting to 12.39 t·ha-1 and 11.78 t·ha-1 were not statistically significant. The average portions of dry matter in the systems of four and five cuts were 25.96% and 22.14%, respectively. Considering the two cutting systems together, the average numbers of stems/m2 in the fourth and fifth year were 822 and 702, respectively, i.e., the number of plants was reduced by 120 stems in relation to the previos year.
AB  - U radu se ističe uticaj navodnjavanja i frekvencija košenja na prinos zelene krme, odnosno sena lucerke. AB  - Review and results of research focusing on genetic resources and improvement of forage plants in Serbia and Montenegro (SMN) are presented in this paper. SMN is extremely rich on natural (native/autochthonous) genetic resources of different forage species. Great number of cultivars of perennial grass and leguminous plants as well as annual forage plants were created in SMN as a result of research work carried out over several decades. Domestic cultivars of forage plants have first of all high productive potential for yield of forage and quality of dry matter.
AB  - U ovom radu dat je pregled i rezultati istraživanja na genetičkim resursima i oplemenjivanju krmnih biljaka u Srbiji i Crnoj Gori (SCG). SCG predstavlja izuzetno bogat izvor prirodnih (autohtonih) genetičkih resursa naročito vrsta krmnih biljaka. Veći broj gajenih sorti krmnih biljaka za stočnu hranu ima svoje srodnike u prirodnim livadskim zajednicama. U više decenijskom radu na oplemenjivanju krmnih biljaka stvoren je veliki broj sorti višegodišnjih trava i leguminoza i jednogodišnjih krmnih kultura sa visokim proizvodnim potencijalom za prinos krme vrlo dobrog kvaliteta suve materije.

AB  - The paper emphasizes growing and utilization of fodder pea in forage and grain production. The yield and quality of different pea varieties in forage and grain especially important in plant protein provision. The paper offers a review of areas, production, average yield of fodder pea as forage and grain crops from 1955 until the present day. Possible ways of utilization as well as access to optimal of utilization are also emphasized.
AB  - U radu je razmatrana problematika gajenja i iskorišćavanja stočnog graška u proizvodnji krme i zrna. Posebno je obrađen prinos i kvalitet sortimenta stočnog graška u proizvodnji krme i zrna kao koncentrovanog stočnog hraniva, značajnog u obezbeđenju biljnih proteina. Dat je pregled kretanja površina, obima proizvodnje i prosečni prinosi po hektaru, stočnog graška za krmu i zrno od 1955. do danas (SGJ-2000), te mogući načini iskorišćavanja i optimalne faze pristupa korišćenju.
