Abstract
A system for sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) haploid iduction, via ginogenesis, was developed, by culture of ovules deriving from unpollinated flower buds. In this paper are presented the methods of haploid production and induction of dihaploid sugar beet plants, by means of colchicine treatment. The morphogenetic potential of inflorescences used for haploid induction was analysed, as well as possibility of these genotypes to be preserved by in vitro vegetative multiplication for later use in breeding proces.
