AB  - U radu se ukazuje na mogućnosti primene nižih i viših biljaka u prečišćavanju zagađenih zemljišta i voda. Sa ulaskom zagađujućih supstanci i patogenih mikroorganizama u biljke značajno se smanjuje zagađenost zemljišta, voda i mulja i na taj način onemogućava da isti, preko lanaca ishrane, dospeju u organizam životinja i čoveka.
AB  - The paper points to the potential use of lower and higher plants and remediation of 
contaminated soil and water. With the entry of contaminants and pathogenic 
microorganisms in plants contamination of soil, water and sludge is significantly 
reduced, and thus prevents that the same, via the food chain, reach the organism of 
animals and humans.

AB  - Prisustvo organskih materija u zemljištu (čvrsti i tečni stajnjak) dovodi do povećanja broja proučavanih mikroorganizama (ukupan broj, broj gljiva, aktinomiceta, amonifikatora i oligonitrofila), izuzev azotobaktera, čija se brojnost smanjivala pod uticajem tečnog stajnjaka. U urbanim zemljištima sa povećanjem zagađenja dolazi do povećanja broja potencijalno patogenih, keratinoliznih i alergenih plesni.
AB  - The presence of organic substances in soil (solid and liquid manure) leads to an increase in the number of the tested microorganisms, except Azotobacter, of which the number is decreased under the influence of liquid manure. With increased pollution in urban soil increase the number of potential pathogenic, keratinolytic and allergenic molds.

AB  - Ispitivanja su izvedena na stacionarnom poljskom ogledu sa
đubrenjem, na zemljištu tipa vertisol u procesu degradacije. Zemljište na kome je ogled izveden odlikuje se niskom pH vrednošću (pH<5,0). Doza upotrebljenog azota je bila 80 kg N/ha, koja je primenjivana u kombinaciji sa fosfornim i kalijumovim đubrivom. Ispitivanja su pokazala znatno variranje prinosa zrna.
Najviši prinos zrna sorta Planeta ostvarila je primenom NPK u količini od 80 kg N ha-1, 100 kg P2O5 ha-1 i 60 kg K2O ha-1 (4,827 t ha-1).  Analizom varijanse ustanovljene su statistički visoko značajne razlike za prinos zrna između ispitivanih varijanti đubrenja.
AB  - Tests were carried out on stationary field trial, soil type vertisol in
the process of degradation. The land on which the view is derived is characterized by low pH (pH<5.0). Dose of nitrogen was 80 kg of N ha-1, which was administered in combination with phosphorous and potassium fertilizer. The tests showed a significant grain yield. The highest grain yield had variety Planeta
application of NPK in a quantity of 80 kg N ha-1, 100 kg P2O5 
ha-1 and 60 kg K2O ha-1 (4.827 t ha-1). Variance analysis showed statistically significant differences for grain yield between the variants of fertilization.

AB  - Poljski ogled sa sortama pšenice Takovčanka, Planeta, Kruna, Toplica i Vizija postavljen je na zemljištu tipa vertisol tokom vegetacionih sezona 2005/06-2011/12. godine. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se kod pet sorti pšenice gajenih na kiselom zemljištu analizira prinos zrna. Najveće vrednosti prinosa zrna ustanovljene su u godini sa umerenim temperaturama i velikom količinom padavina u vegetacionoj 2007/08. godini. Prosečan prinos zrna sorti pšenice kretao se od 3.743 t ha-1 do 6.275 t ha-1. Sorte Kruna, Planeta i Vizija imale su najveći prinos zrna. Na osnovu analize varijanse, moţe se zaključiti da postoje vrlo značajne razlike u prinosu zrna u odnosu na godinu ispitivanja, dok između ispitivanih sorti pšenice razlike nisu bile signifikantne.
AB  - Field trial with wheat varieties Takovčanka, Planeta, Kruna, Toplica and Vizija was set on vertisol-type soil during the vegetation seasons 2005/06-2011/12. The aim of the research was to analyse the grain yield in five varieties of wheat cultivated on acid soil. The highest values of grain yield were established in the year with moderate temperatures and high precipitation in the vegetation year 2007/08. Average grain yield of wheat cultivars ranged from 3.743 t ha-1 to 6.275 t ha-1. The Kruna, Planeta and Vizija varieties had the highest yield of grain. Based on the analysis of variance, it can be concluded that there are very significant differences in grain yield regard the year of investigation, while among the investigated wheat cultivars the differences were not significant.

AB  - The aim of this research was to determine the possibility of increasing organic matter content in humusless deposol topsoil and forming of a more favourable adsorptive complex by introducing green manure. Green manure biomass came from these compound plant species: winter rye + common vetch, forage pea + rapeseed mustard and Sudan grass. Compound feed was sown on degraded soil (type deposol) of the Stanari coal mine. Applied cultivation practices included primary and secondary tillage and additional plant nutrition. Mineral fertilizers were applied: NPK 7:20:30 (400 kg ha(-1)) and CAN 27% (200 kg ha(-1)). One of the treatments included addition of bentonite clay as absorbent of nutrients. During intensive vegetation the growth of the green biomass was measured, the crops were harvested, cut and ploughed in deposol topsoil. Organic matter content in deposol was determined when soil samples were taken 6 months after green manure incorporation. The results show that the mineral fertilization of siderates significantly increased green biomass yield and Sudan grass gave two cuts, which positively affected the increase of organic matter content in soil.

AB  - Investigation about effect of high amounts of nitrogen and source of nutrition on winter triticale productivity was carried out in a stationary field trial in the Sumadija region, in Central Serbia. This study was conducted over a period of three years (2009-2011) on a vertisol soil to evaluate the effect of different fertilization methods on grain yield and yield components of winter triticale variety. Treatments included control and six fertilization variants with different combinations of NPK fertilizers (N, NK, NP1, NP2, NP1K, and NP2K). Investigation showed a considerable variation of grain yield depending on mineral nutrition. The highest and statistically significant average grain yields were achieved under NP1K (4.105 t ha(-1)) and NP2K (4.050 t ha(-1)) treatments. The combined use of NP1K fertilizers (120 kg N ha(-1), 60 kg P2O5 ha(-1), 60 kg K2O ha(-1)) and NP2K treatment (120 kg N ha(-1), 100 kg P2O5 ha(-1), 60 kg K2O ha(-1)) represented the excellent base for optimum stock of major nutrients, resulting in maximum grain yield. Thousand grain weight of triticale significantly varied across years, the highest average 1000-grain weight of winter triticale investigated was achieved in the NP1K variant (44.81 g). Grain yield was significantly positively correlated with 1000-grain weight only in all years.

The average plant height for all examined genotypes of two-rowed barley ranged from 75.70 cm (2009/10) to 77.87 cm (2008/09), while the average plant height was 76.79 cm. The length of spike of the studied genotypes of two-rowed barley ranged from 8.32 cm (2008/09) to 8.50 cm (2009/10), while the average was 8.41 cm. The number of grains per spike of the studied genotypes of two-rowed barley ranged from 22.50 (2009/10) to 22.69 (2008/09), while the average was 22.59. The grain weight per spike of the barley in the area of Zaječar ranged from 1.066 g (2009/10) to 1.122 g (2008/09), while the average was 1.094 g. Correlations between the length of spike and number of grains per spike and grain weight per spike in the examined genotypes of two-rowed barley at the location Zaječar showed a positive value both in the vegetations 2008/09 and 2009/10 of the study.

AB  - The wheat cultivar used in the experiment was Kruna. This investigation included an untreated seven variants of fertilization: 1-control, 2-80 kg/ha N, 3-60 kg/ha P2O5, 4-80 kg/ha N, 60 kg/ha P2O5, 5-80 kg/ha N, 100 kg/ha K2O, 6-80 kg/ha N, 60 kg/ha P2O5, 60 kg/ha K2O and 7-80 kg/ha N, 100 kg/ha P2O5, 60 kg/ha K2O. Total amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers and half the nitrogen rate are regularly applied during pre-sowing cultivation of soil. The trial was set up in a randomized block design with five replications. The crop was harvested at full maturity. Grain yield (t/ha) was harvested and reported at 14% moisture. Three parameters were analyzed: test weight (kg/hl), 1000-grain weight (g) and grain yield (t/ha). Investigation where showed a considerable variation of grain yield which were in dependence from mineral nutrition. The highest grain yields were the highest with mineral fertilizer in the combined N80P100K60 (4.738 t/ha). Over the two-year period, all investigated treatments of wheat achieved the highest average 1000-grain weight in the combined N80P60 (43.08 g). The highest test weight was the highest with mineral fertilizer in the combined N80P60K60 (73.63 kg/hl). Analysis of variance was found highly significant effect of years on 1000 grains weight.

Masa 1000 zrna kod ispitivanih sorti pšenice značajno je varirala zavisno od genotipa, a najveća prosečna masa hiljadu zrna (45,48 g) ustanovljena je kod sorte pšenice Takovčanka sa kombinacijom đubrenja N80P60K60.
AB  - Investigations were carried out during the 2007/2008 year at the Center for Small Grains in Kragujevac. The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of mineral nutrition on the yield of winter wheat varieties (Lazarica, Takovčanka, KG 56S, KG 100 and Ana Morava). Two experiments were conducted (N1-80 kg/ha and N2-120 kg/ha) in these investigation. The study showed that cultivar Takovčanka achieved their highest grain yield (5. 362 t/ha) with a fertilizer combination of N120P60K60. Thousand grain weights significantly varied across cultivars, and cultivar Takovčanka achieved the highest average value (45. 48 g) with a fertilizer combination of N80P60K60.

Quality Parameters and Antioxidant Activity of Three Clover Species in Relation to the Livestock Diet

AB  - Products of metabolism that are directly involved in growth, development and reproduction and also secondary products of metabolism were studied in 16 natural populations of three species of the genus Trifolium (T. repens - four populations, T. alpestre - three populations, T. pannonicum - nine populations), collected from the central Balkans region, i.e. territory of Serbia. Statistical analysis showed the presence of variability in all species of the test material. The best quality of dry matter, estimated by the ratio of crude protein and crude fiber, was achieved in the populations of white clover. In this species, average protein content was 216.4 g kg(-1) while the average content of crude fiber was 222.4 g kg(-1). The highest average content of total phenols (77.9 mg GA g(-1)), flavonoids (159.7 mg Ru g(-1)) and antioxidant activity (70.2 mu g ml(-1)) was measured in populations of T. pannonicum by phytochemical analysis of aerial parts of plants. The content of secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in other species were extremely low. Populations of T. pannonicum were notable for fodder quality and antioxidant activity: CS091 with 186.2 g kg(-1) of crude protein and antioxidant activity of 55 mu g ml(-1); RA123 with 175.6 g kg(-1) of crude protein and a high level of antioxidant activity of 44.8 mu g ml(-1). It can be concluded that the selection of these populations may lead to creation of different varieties of fodder crops that could give safe animal feed and would be suitable for growing under adverse conditions of mountainous climate.

Classification of continental halophytic grassland vegetation of Southeastern Europe

AB  - Aims: A syntaxonomic revision of saline grassland vegetation according to floristic, ecological and biogeographical characteristics. Study area: Southeastern Europe with special emphasis to the Southeastern Balkan. Methods: The set of 2,362 releves from published and unpublished sources originally classified into the classes Thero-Salicornietea, Festuco-Puccinellietea and Molinio-Arrhenatheretea was analysed. Cluster analysis and ordination of the dataset were performed to assess particular vegetation patterns. Diagnostic species of each cluster were determined using the phi-coefficient as a fidelity measure. Results: The analysed dataset could be arranged into four main groups reflecting soil salinity as a key factor for the differentiation of halophytic vegetation. The first group comprised communities of extremely saline and wet soils (Thero-Salicornietea), the second group included highly saline Pannonian grasslands (Puccinellietalia), whereas the third group was rather heterogeneous, grouping different types of saline and alkaline vegetation, mostly on solonetz soil, including vegetation developed on wet saline places, steppe grasslands (Artemisio-Festucetalia) and halophytic vegetation from southern Serbia and R. Macedonia (Puccinellion convolutae). The fourth group comprised sub-Mediterranean grasslands from Molinio-Arrhenatheretea class occurring in habitats of a low salinity level. Conclusions: Variation in different types of halophytic vegetation corresponds to the salinity and moisture gradients. This is an additional attempt of large-scale analysis of the halophytic vegetation focusing on the Southeastern Europe and Balkan in particular. The occurrence of the alliance Puccinelion convolutae was confirmed within saline habitats in southern Serbia. There is an urgent need for conservation of the studied halophytic flora and vegetation.

Genetic variability of seed yield and seed yield components of autochthonous Lolium perenne L. populations

AB  - The aim of this study was to examine genetic variability, heritability and correlation of seed yield components and seed yield of progenies of autochthonous populations and cultivars of perennial ryegrass, and that on the basis of these results distinguish genotypes that would be later used in the creation of new local cultivars of perennial ryegrass. Research was carried out on experimental fields and laboratories of the Agricultural Institute of Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka in 2007. and 2008., on 6 natural populations of perennial ryegrass collected in Bosnia and Herzegovina and two cultivars, Maja and Calibra as standard. Following parameters were analyzed: number of generative tillers per plant, time of flowering, spike length, number of spikelets per spike, seed yield per spike and plant and 1000 seed weight. Analysis of the results of the number of generative tillers per plant indicates a statistically significant difference in the studied populations and cultivars of perennial ryegrass. The highest average number of tillers per plant was found in the cultivar Maja (193.8), and the least number was detected in population Dragočaj (78.9), so statistical differences were highly significant. The longest period to beginning of flowering was determined in cultivar Calibra (56.5 days) and the shortest in population Laminci (43 days). The average length of spike of perennial ryegrass in the studied population was 22.78 cm and was significantly lower than cultivar Maja. Statistically significant differences between populations and variety Maja in the number of spikelets per spike were detected. The average seed yield per spike of studied populations was in level with cultivar Maja and 37.5% higher compared with variety Calibra. In the studied populations of perennial ryegrass seed yield ranged from 5.21 g (Dragočaj population) to 15.40 g (Kupres population). Weight of 1000 seeds was highest in the variety Calibra (2.60 g) and lowest in population Maglajani (1.94 g). Proportion of genetic to phenotypic variance for time of flowering, the number of generative tillers, seed yield per spike and plant and 1000 seed weight indicate that the variability of these traits in this collection of genotypes, largely derived from plant genotype. In this investigation, the presence of a highly significant positive genetic correlation was found between time of flowering and spike length (0.98), time of flowering and 1000 seed weight (0.97), number of generative tillers and seed yield per plant (0.91) and spike length and 1000 seed weight (0.98).
AB  - Cilj ovog rada je da se ispitaju genetička varijabilnost, heritabilnost i korelacije komponenti prinosa i prinos sjemena potomstava autohtonih populacija i sorti engleskog ljulja. Istraživanja su obavljena na oglednom polju i u laboratorijama Poljoprivrednog instituta Republike Srpske, tokom 2007. i 2008. godine. Proučavano je 6 autohtonih populacija engleskog ljulja sakupljenih u Bosni i Hercegovini i dvije sorte Maja i Calibra kao standardi. Analizirane su sledeće osobine: broj generativnih stabljika po biljci, broj dana do početka cvjetanja, dužina klasa, broj klasića po klasu, prinos sjemena po klasu i biljci i masa 1.000 sjemena. Analiza rezultata broja generativnih stabljika po biljci ukazuje da postoji visoko signifikantna razlika kod ispitivanih populacija i sorti engleskog ljulja. Najduži period do početka cvjetanja imala je sorta Calibra, a najkraći populacija Laminci. Prosječna dužina klasa kod ispitivanih populacija iznosila je 22,7 cm i bila je značajno manja u odnosu na sortu Maja.U broju klasića po jednom klasu postoje visoko signifikantne razlike između pojedinih populacija engleskog ljulja i sorte Maja. Prosječan prinos sjemena po klasu ispitivanih populacija bio je u nivou sorte Maja, a u odnosu na sortu Calibra viši za 37,5%.
