AB  - Ispitivanja su izvedena na stacionarnom poljskom ogledu sa
đubrenjem, na zemljištu tipa vertisol u procesu degradacije. Zemljište na kome je ogled izveden odlikuje se niskom pH vrednošću (pH<5,0). Doza upotrebljenog azota je bila 80 kg N/ha, koja je primenjivana u kombinaciji sa fosfornim i kalijumovim đubrivom. Ispitivanja su pokazala znatno variranje prinosa zrna.
Najviši prinos zrna sorta Planeta ostvarila je primenom NPK u količini od 80 kg N ha-1, 100 kg P2O5 ha-1 i 60 kg K2O ha-1 (4,827 t ha-1).  Analizom varijanse ustanovljene su statistički visoko značajne razlike za prinos zrna između ispitivanih varijanti đubrenja.
AB  - Tests were carried out on stationary field trial, soil type vertisol in
the process of degradation. The land on which the view is derived is characterized by low pH (pH<5.0). Dose of nitrogen was 80 kg of N ha-1, which was administered in combination with phosphorous and potassium fertilizer. The tests showed a significant grain yield. The highest grain yield had variety Planeta
application of NPK in a quantity of 80 kg N ha-1, 100 kg P2O5 
ha-1 and 60 kg K2O ha-1 (4.827 t ha-1). Variance analysis showed statistically significant differences for grain yield between the variants of fertilization.

AB  - The experiment was established at the experimental field of the Dr. Dorde Radic Secondary School of Agriculture and Chemistry in Kraljevo (Serbia) during the 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 growing seasons. The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of genotype and the environment on the grain yield of winter barley cultivars ('Jagodinac', 'Maksa', 'Rekord', 'NS 565' and 'NS 525'). The following characteristics were analysed: grain yield, 1,000 grain weight, test weight and plant height. The average grain yield of all cultivars in the 2010/11 growing season was significantly greater than in the following years, mostly as the result of highly favourable weather conditions at major stages of plant development. 'Jagodinac', 'NS 565' and 'NS 525' gave significantly higher grain yields in all years compared to 'Maksa' and 'Rekord'. Averaged across years, significantly higher values for 1,000 grain weight and test weight were found in 'NS 565' and 'Rekord', respectively. In all years, plant height was significantly greater in 'Jagodinac' than in the other cultivars. Different responses of cultivars to variable agroenvironmental conditions in terms of 1,000 grain weight and test weight require the use of a number of cultivars in the crop structure.

Effects of fertilization on production traits of winter wheat

AB  - The wheat cultivar used in the experiment was Kruna. This investigation included an untreated seven variants of fertilization: 1-control, 2-80 kg/ha N, 3-60 kg/ha P2O5, 4-80 kg/ha N, 60 kg/ha P2O5, 5-80 kg/ha N, 100 kg/ha K2O, 6-80 kg/ha N, 60 kg/ha P2O5, 60 kg/ha K2O and 7-80 kg/ha N, 100 kg/ha P2O5, 60 kg/ha K2O. Total amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers and half the nitrogen rate are regularly applied during pre-sowing cultivation of soil. The trial was set up in a randomized block design with five replications. The crop was harvested at full maturity. Grain yield (t/ha) was harvested and reported at 14% moisture. Three parameters were analyzed: test weight (kg/hl), 1000-grain weight (g) and grain yield (t/ha). Investigation where showed a considerable variation of grain yield which were in dependence from mineral nutrition. The highest grain yields were the highest with mineral fertilizer in the combined N80P100K60 (4.738 t/ha). Over the two-year period, all investigated treatments of wheat achieved the highest average 1000-grain weight in the combined N80P60 (43.08 g). The highest test weight was the highest with mineral fertilizer in the combined N80P60K60 (73.63 kg/hl). Analysis of variance was found highly significant effect of years on 1000 grains weight.

Impact of year yield and grain quality of winter wheat

AB  - This paper presents the results of winter wheat varieties (Vizija and Kruna). The cultivars were grown in the experimental field of the Center for Small Grains, Kragujevac, during two growing seasons. By examining the physical properties of grain, variety Kruna achieved the highest grain yield (5.150 t/ha), while a slightly higher 1000 grain weight (41.78 g) and test weight (75.35 kg/hl) was variety Vizija, during the two-year study period. Data analysis showed significant dependence between the of 1000 grain weight and years of research. The difference found between the significance of the impact of variety on grain quality of wheat cultivar, was highly significant for test weight. The differences in significance from the point of interaction year x cultivar on the average value of grain yield were statistically highly significant, while for test weight and 1000-grain weight were not significant. Cultivars Vizija and the Kruna have conducted surveys have shown a high degree of adaptability conditions of production of wheat and had a satisfactory yield in the examined vegetation seasons.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja ozimih sorti pšenice (Vizija i Kruna). Sorte su gajene na oglednom polju Centra za strna zita, Kragujevac, tokom dve vegetacione sezone. Ispitivanjem fizičkih osobina zrna, sorta Kruna je ostvarila najveći prinos zrna (5,150 t/ha), dok je nešto veću masu 1000 zrna (41,777 g) i hektolitarsku masu (75,350 kg/hl) imala sorta Vizija, tokom dvogodišnjeg perioda ispitivanja. Analizom dobijenih podataka utvrđena je značajna zavisnost između mase 1000 zrna i godina istrazivanja. Utvrđena razlika značajnosti između uticaja sorte na kvalitet zrna kod ispitivanih sorti pšenice, bila je vrlo visoko značajna za hektolitarsku masu. Ustanovljene razlike značajnosti sa stanovišta interakcije godina x sorta na prosečne vrednosti prinosa zrna, bile su statistički vrlo značajne, dok za hektolitarsku masu i masu 1000 zrna nisu bile signifikantne. Sorte Vizija i Kruna su u sprovedenim ispitivanjima pokazale visok stepen adaptabilnosti uslovima proizvodnje pšenice i imale su zadovoljavajući prinos u ispitivanim vegetacionim sezonama.

Stability parameters yield of different varieties of triticale

AB  - This paper presents the results of winter triticale varieties (Favorit, Kg20, Trijumf and KG Tempo). The cultivars were grown in the experimental field of the Center for Small Grains, Kragujevac, during three growing seasons. By examining the physical properties of grain, variety KG Tempo achieved the highest grain yield (5.378 t/ha), 1000 grain weight (45.03 g) and test weight (66.56 kg/hl), during the three-year study period. Analysis of the data showed significant components depended grain quality of genotype and environmental factors. The difference between the significance of the impact on the quality of the grain in the cultivars of triticale, was highly significant for grain yield. The differences of significance from the point of impact on the average value of 1000 grain weight were statistically significant, while for test weight were not significant.

Ispitivanjem fizičkih osobina zrna, sorta KG Tempo je ostvarila najveći prinos zrna (5,378 t/ha), masu 1000 zrna (45,03 g) i hektolitarsku masu (66,56 kg/hl), tokom trogodišnjeg perioda ispitivanja. Analizom dobijenih podataka utvrđena je značajna zavisnost između godina istraživanja i ispitivanih komponenti kvaliteta zrna. Utvrđena razlika značajnosti između uticaja godine na kvalitet zrna kod ispitivanih sorti tritikalea, bila je vrlo visoko značajna za prinos zrna. Ustanovljene razlike značajnosti sa stanovišta uticaja godine na prosečne vrednosti mase 1000 zrna bile su statistički vrlo značajne, dok za hektolitarsku masu nisu bile signifikantne.

AB  - Study of fertilization effects were conducted in a stationary type of field trial, on a degrading vertisol soil with low pH. The rates of nitrogen application were 80 kg N ha(-1), and they were applied either individually or in combination with three phosphorus rates and the potassium fertilizer. The highest grain yields under mineral nutrition involving a combination of three mineral elements were: N, P and K (80 kg N ha(-1), 60 kg P2O5 ha(-1), 60 kg K2O ha(-1)), and under NP2K treatment at a rate of 80 kg N ha(-1), 80 kg P2O5 ha(-1) and 60 kg K2O ha(-1). Based on the analysis of variance, it can be concluded that there were highly significant differences in grains yield among years of investigation and highly significant differences at 1000-grain weight and grain test weight.

AB  - This paper presents the results of investigation of yield parameters of winter triticale varieties (Favorit, Kg 20 and Trijumf). Varieties were grown on the experimental field of Center for Small Grains, Kragujevac during two seasons on vertisol soil. Variety Kg 20 was achieved the highest average yield in the first year (4.639 t ha-1), while in the second year variety Trijumf (5.669 t ha-1). AB  - This study shows analysis of winter hexaploid triticale varieties (Kg 20, Favorit and Trijumf) from Kragujevac, Serbia. Varieties were grown in the trial field of Small Grains Research Centre, Kragujevac during the season 2007-2008. The best parameter of productivity for spike width, grain number in spike, and grain weight per spike was achieved by the analyzed variety Favorit, while variety Trijumf had the best parameter for spike length. Check variety (Kg 20) had the greatest spikelet's number in spike. Highly significant differences were found between the varieties for width of spike and number of grains per spike and significant differences for length of spike. Triticale varieties showed no significant differences in spikellets number in spike.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja kragujevačkih ozimih heksaploidnih sorti tritikalea (Kg 20, Favorit i Trijumf). Sorte su gajene na oglednom polju Centra za strna žita u Kragujevcu tokom 2007-2008. godine. Najbolji pokazatelj rodnosti kod širine klasa, broja zrna u klasu i mase zrna po klasu pokazala je sorta Favorit, a kod dužine klasa sorta Trijumf. Sorta standard Kg 20 imala je najveći broj klasaka u klasu. Analizom dobijenih podataka utvrđeno je da postoje visoko značajne razlike u širini klasa i broja zrna u klasu, a značajne razlike za dužinu klasa između ispitivanih sorti tritikalea. Između ispitivanih sorti tritikalea nisu ustanovljene signifikantne razlike za broj klasaka u klasu.

Distribution and forms of manganese in vertisols of Serbia

AB  - Soil samples taken from the Ap horizont of arable land and meadows at ten different localities were analyzed for different forms of manganese, including total (HF), pseudo-total (HNO3), 0.1 M HCl-extractable and diethylentriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA)-extractable. A sequential fractional procedure was used for Mn portioning into fractions: water soluble and exchangeable Mn (I), specifically adsorbed Mn with carbonates (II), reductant releasable Mn in oxides (III), Mn bonded with organic matter (IV) and Mn structurally bonded in silicates (residual fraction) (V). Serbian vertisols have a normal Mn content, comparable with similar soils. The total (HF) and pseudototal (HNO3) Mn contents were not correlated with soil properties, whereas the humus content positively influenced the 0.1 M HCl-extractable Mn in soil (r = 0.49). Soil pH and CaCO3 (r = 0.57 and 0.43) showed significant negative correlations with the DTPA-extractable Mn, respectively. The different extraction methods showed similar patterns of Mn content in arable and meadow soils. The sequential fractional procedure showed that reductant releasable Mn occluded in oxides of Fe and Mn was the prevailing Mn fraction in soil, however, water soluble and exchangeable Mn and Mn bonded with organic matter had significant correlations with most of the examined soil characteristics. Potential Mn toxicity in vertisols could be observed under lower pH and saturated conditions.
AB  - U cilju određivanja različitih oblika mangana u vertisolima sa područja Srbije (oranice i livade) poreklom sa deset različitih lokaliteta analiziran je ukupan sadržaj mangana (HF), pseudo-ukupan sadržaj (HNO3), 0,1 M HCl rastvorljiv i DTPA rastvorljiv mangan. Sekvencijalnom ekstrakcijom izvršeno je razdvajanje frakcija mangana na rastvorljiv u vodi i razmenljiv mangan (I), specifično adsorbovan sa karbonatima (II), okludovan u oksidima (III), mangan vezan za organsku materiju (IV) i mangan strukturno vezan u silikatima (rezidualni deo) (V). Sadržaj mangana u analiziranom zemljištu (vertisol) poređen je sa dobijenim rezultatima na sličnim zemljištima. Ukupan sadržaj mangana (HF) i pseudo-ukupan sadržaj (HNO3) nisu bili u korelaciji sa ispitivanim svojstvima zemljišta, dok je sadržaj humusa pozitivno uticao na 0,1 M HCl rastvorljiv mangan(r = 0,49). Zemljišni pH i CaCO3 (r = 0,57 i 0,43) su pokazali visoko značajnu negativnu korelaciju sa DTPA rastvorljivim manganom. Različita ekstrakciona sredstva su ispoljila sličan efekat na sadržaj Mn u obradivom zemljištu i livadama. Sekvenciona ekstrakciona analiza je pokazala da mangan okludovan u oksidima čini procentualno najveću frakciju u zemljištu, istovremeno postoje statistički značajne korelacije između mangana rastvorljivog u vodi i mangana vezanog za organsku materiju i većine svojstava zemljišta. Potencijal ekotoksičnosti mangana se može ispoljiti samo u slučajavima niske pH vrednosti zemljišta i pojave zasićanja zemljišta sa vodom.

The total (HF) and pseudototal (HNO3) Mn contents were not correlated with soil properties, whereas the humus content positively influenced the 0.1 M HCl-extractable Mn in soil (r = 0.49). Soil pH and CaCO3 (r = 0.57 and 0.43) showed significant negative correlations with the DTPA-extractable Mn, respectively. The different extraction methods showed similar patterns of Mn content in arable and meadow soils. The sequential fractional procedure showed that reductant releasable Mn occluded in oxides of Fe and Mn was the prevailing Mn fraction in soil, however, water soluble and exchangeable Mn and Mn bonded with organic matter had significant correlations with most of the examined soil characteristics. Potential Mn toxicity in vertisols could be observed under lower pH and saturated conditions., U cilju određivanja različitih oblika mangana u vertisolima sa područja Srbije (oranice i livade) poreklom sa deset različitih lokaliteta analiziran je ukupan sadržaj mangana (HF), pseudo-ukupan sadržaj (HNO3), 0,1 M HCl rastvorljiv i DTPA rastvorljiv mangan. Sekvencijalnom ekstrakcijom izvršeno je razdvajanje frakcija mangana na rastvorljiv u vodi i razmenljiv mangan (I), specifično adsorbovan sa karbonatima (II), okludovan u oksidima (III), mangan vezan za organsku materiju (IV) i mangan strukturno vezan u silikatima (rezidualni deo) (V). Sadržaj mangana u analiziranom zemljištu (vertisol) poređen je sa dobijenim rezultatima na sličnim zemljištima. Ukupan sadržaj mangana (HF) i pseudo-ukupan sadržaj (HNO3) nisu bili u korelaciji sa ispitivanim svojstvima zemljišta, dok je sadržaj humusa pozitivno uticao na 0,1 M HCl rastvorljiv mangan(r = 0,49). Zemljišni pH i CaCO3 (r = 0,57 i 0,43) su pokazali visoko značajnu negativnu korelaciju sa DTPA rastvorljivim manganom. Različita ekstrakciona sredstva su ispoljila sličan efekat na sadržaj Mn u obradivom zemljištu i livadama. Sekvenciona ekstrakciona analiza je pokazala da mangan okludovan u oksidima čini procentualno najveću frakciju u zemljištu, istovremeno postoje statistički značajne korelacije između mangana rastvorljivog u vodi i mangana vezanog za organsku materiju i većine svojstava zemljišta. Potencijal ekotoksičnosti mangana se može ispoljiti samo u slučajavima niske pH vrednosti zemljišta i pojave zasićanja zemljišta sa vodom.",

Distribution and forms of iron in the vertisols of Serbia

AB  - Soil of arable land and meadows from the Ap horizon, taken from ten different localities, were investigated for different forms of Fe, including total (HF), pseudo-total (HNO3), 0.1 M HCl extractable and DTPA (diethylenetri-aminepentaacetic acid)-extractable. A sequential fractional procedure was employed to separate the Fe into fractions: water soluble and exchangeable Fe (I), Fe specifically adsorbed with carbonates (II), reducibly releasable Fe in oxides (III), Fe bonded with organic matter (IV) and Fe structurally bonded in silicates (residual fraction) (V). The soil pH, cation exchange capacity, and size fractions (clay and silt) had a strongest influence on the distribution of the different forms of Fe. The different extraction methods showed similar patterns of the Fe content in arable and meadow soils. However, the DTPA iron did not correspond with the total iron, which confirms the widespread incidence of iron-deficiency in vertisols is independent of the total iron in soils. The amount of exchangeable (fraction I) and specifically adsorbed (II) iron showed no dependence on its content in the other fractions, indicating low mobility of iron in vertisols. The strong positive correlation (r = 0.812 and 0.956) between the content of iron in HNO3 and HF and its contents in the primary and secondary minerals (fraction - V) indicate a low content of plant accessible iron in the vertisol. The sequential fractional procedure was confirmed as suitable for accessing the content and availability of iron in the vertisols of Serbia.
AB  - U cilju određivanja različitih oblika gvožđa u nekim varijetetima vertisola sa područja Srbije (oranice i livade) poreklom sa deset različitih lokaliteta analiziran je ukupan sadržaj gvožđa (HF), pseudo-ukupan sadržaj (HNO3), 0,1 M HCl rastvorljivo i DTPA rastvorljivo gvožđe. Sekvencijalnom ekstrakcijom izvršeno je razdvajanje frakcija gvožđa na rastvorljivo u vodi i razmenljivo Fe (I), specifično absorbovano gvožđe sa karbonatima (II), okludovano Fe u oksidima (III), Fe vezano za organsku materiju (IV) i Fe strukturno vezano u silikatima (rezidualni deo, V). pH vrednost zemljišta, CEC i veličina frakcija (glina i prah) imali su značajan uticaj na distribuciju različitih oblika gvožđa. Međutim, sadržaj DTPA rastvorljivog gvožđa ne odgovara ukupnom sadržaju, što potvrđuje da je učestalost nedostatka gvožđa u vertisolima na području Sr- bije nezavisna od ukupnog gvožđa u zemljištima. Iznos razmenljivog gvožđa (frakcija I) i adsorbovovanog (II) gvožđa nije pokazala zavisnost od njegovog sadržaja u drugim frakcijama, što ukazuje na nisku mobilnost gvožđa u proučavanim vertisolima. Jaka pozitivna korelacija (r = 0,812 i 0,956) između sadržaja gvožđa u HNO3 i HF i njegov sadržaj u primarnim i sekundarnim mineralima (frakcija V) pokazuju nizak nivo gvožđa dostupnog biljkama u ispitivanim vertisolima. Korišćenjem sekvencijalne ekstrakcije moguće je utvrditi sadržaj i pristupačnost gvožđa u vertisolima Srbije.

AB  - Sequential extraction for the determination of zinc forms in soil has been applied in order to enable clearer understanding of its mobility and availability for plants. Examinations were conducted on 20 samples of soil with different chemical and physical characteristics; plant uptake was followed on oats (Avena sativa L). A fractional scheme was applied with extraction of (I) water soluble and exchangeable adsorbed metals, (II) specifically adsorbed metals and metal bounded with carbonates, (III) reductant releasable Zn, which included Zn bonded to oxides not released in the previous step, and probably included Zn occluded in oxides, (IV) organically bonded, and (V) (residual fraction) metal structurally bonded in silicates. The majority of zinc is in residual fraction (V) (74.9% in field vertisols and 69% in meadow vertisols). Reductant releasable Zn occluded in oxides (III) is the second largest with higher values in meadows (22.2%) than in fields (17.5%). The content of zinc in organic matter (IV) is small (6.7%) in both types of soil. Specifically adsorbed zinc, and zinc bonded with carbonates (II) is low (0.1-3.1), while its' content in exchangeable fraction (I) is negligible and is about 0.2%. Exchangeable and specifically adsorbed zinc increased with the reduction of the pH of soil, CEC, clay and clay + silt, and with the increase of silt and sand. Zinc in the residual fraction increases with the pH of soil, clay, CEC, and clay + silt. The concentration of residual zinc was determined by mechanical fraction of clay.
