Origin and content of nickel in alluvial-diluvial soils of Srem, Serbia

AB  - This paper presents the results of 30 representative samples of alluvial-diluvial soils of Srem region of Serbia. The following basic chemical properties were examined: active soil acidity (pH in H2O), substitutional acidity (pH in 1M KCl), CaCO3 content, humus content, total nitrogen content, and content of available forms of phosphorus and potassium. The paper shows the characteristics, origins, behaviour and content of total and available nickel in the soil. Average value of total nickel in the analyzed soil samples was above the MAC 115.95 mg kg-1, while the mean value of available nickel was 1.484 mg kg-1. The share of available nickel in total nickel is a good indicator of the origin of soil contamination. Having identified a low percentage of readily available nickel in total nickel (an average of 1.36%), we can conclude that the content of Ni in the soils of Srem is of natural origin and that there is no threat that this element would enter the food chain.
AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja 30 reprezentativnih uzoraka aluvijalno-deluvijalnih zemljišta Srema. Ispitana su osnovna hemijska svojstva: aktivna kiselost zemljišta (pH u H2O), supstituciona kiselost (pH u 1M KCl), sadržaj CaCO3, humusa, ukupnog azota, kao i lakopristupačnog fosfora i kalijuma. Prikazane su osobine, poreklo, ponašanje i sadržaj ukupnog i lakopristupačnog nikla u zemljištu. Srednja vrednost ukupnog nikla ispitivanih uzoraka zemljišta je iznad MDK i iznosi 115,95 mg kg-1 zemljišta, dok srednja vrednost lakopristupačnog nikla iznosi 1,484 mg kg-1. Procentualni udeo pristupačnog sadržaja u ukupnom je dobar pokazatelj porekla zagađenja zemljišta. Pošto je utvrđen nizak procentualni udeo lakopristupačnog nikla u ukupnom (u proseku 1,36%), sledi zaključak da je sadržaj Ni u zemljištima Srema prirodnog porekla i da nema opasnosti od ulaska ovog elementa u lanac ishrane.

Heavy metal content in some fertilizers used in Serbia

AB  - Levels of heavy metals Cd, Cr, Ni and Pb obtained by analysis of inorganic and organic fertilizers available on the Serbian market are discussed in this paper. The first estimation of the heavy metal input in soils due to use of phosphate fertilizers is also given. The heavy metal contents of all analysed inorganic fertilizers were below the MAC according to the current Serbian regulations. Elevated concentrations of Ni were detected in two and a high Cr concentration in one sample of the substrates. The average (theoretical) heavy metal input in Serbian soils was calculated based on the application of 20 kg ha-1 P2O5 per year. The calculated heavy metal input was lower than European average and it is similar to the inputs recorded in Finland and Denmark.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati analize sadržaja teških metala Cd, Cr, Ni i Pb u uzorcima neorganskih i organskih đubriva koja se nalaze na tržištu u Srbiji, a data je i početna procena količine teških metala koja se unose u zemljište prilikom upotrebe fosfatnih đubriva. Sadržaj teških metala u svim analiziranim neorganskim đubrivima je ispod MDK po važećem Pravilniku, a u uzorcima supstrata, koji se svrstavaju u organska đubriva, izmerena je povišena koncetracija Ni (2 uzorka) i Cr (1 uzorak). Prosečan (teorijski) unos teških metala u zemljište u Srbiji pod pretpostavkom da se godišnje po hektaru primeni 20 kg P2O5 niži je od evropskog proseka i blizak je podacima za Finsku i Dansku.

Microbiological properties of soils in natural grasslands

AB  - Microbiological and basic agrochemical soil properties (0-30 cm) in natural grasslands have been examined in four locations: three in the location Pester, at the altitudes between 1176 and 1342 m, and one in Bogovoda, at the altitude of 123 m. The soils in the examined locations were slightly acid (pH 5.32 - 6.31), with a high humus content (3.20 - 8.74%). The tested soils had low phosphorus contents. Potassium contents were higher, especially in the location Pester at 1237 m. In spite of a high total number of microbes Azotobacter sp. could not be found in the examined soils. Ammonifiers and free nitrogen-fixing bacteria were registered in high populations. Physico-chemical soil properties considerably affected the numbers of fungi and actinomycetes. The acid reaction of the soils was probably the reason for a high population of fungi and a low population of actinomycetes. The highest value of dehydro-genase activity (1042 ŋgTPF g-1 of soil) was obtained in the highest location in Pester, the lowest in the location of Bogovoda.
AB  - Cilj istraživanja je da se na osnovu zastupljenosti pojedinih grupa mikroorganizama i aktivnosti dehidrogenaze sagleda biogenost zemljišta pod prirodnim travnjacima. Mikrobiološka i osnovna agrohemijska svojstva zemljišta prirodnih travnjaka ispitana su na četiri lokaliteta (do 30 cm) tri na Pešteru na nadmorskoj visini od 1176-1342 m, i pašnjak u Bogovođi na nadmorskoj visini 123 m. Ispitivana zemljišta su blago kisela, bez karbonata sa različitim sadržajem humusa (od 8,74-3,20%) i niskim sadržajem fosfora. Zastupljenost Azotobacter-a nije utvrđena u ispitivanim zemljištima. Ukupan broj mikroogranizama, amonifikatori i gljive su veoma zastupljeni na ovim zemljištima. Najniža vrednost dehidrogenazne aktivosti izmerena je na lokalitetu Bogovođa u odnosu na zemljište travnjaka na Pešteru.

Available copper status in orchard and vineyard soils in the region of Srem

AB  - Soil samples taken from orchards and vineyards in the region of Srem have been analyzed for main chemical properties including the content of available copper. All of the samples were well provided with copper. Copper content was increased in chernozem as compared with the brown forest soil. The samples from vineyards had an increased copper content, which is a consequence of the traditional use of copper-based preparations (copper sulphate) in grapevine protection.
AB  - U uzorcima zemljišta Srema pod voćarsko-vinogradarskim kulturama uzetih iz profila po dubini određena su osnovna hemijska svojstva zemljišta kao i sadržaj pristupačnog bakra. Svi ispitivani uzorci zemljišta imali su sadržaj bakra koji ih svrstava u dobro obezbeđena zemljišta u ovom elementu. Veći sadržaj pristupačnog Cu bio je kod černozema u odnosu na gajnjaču. Uzorci zemljišta uzeti pod vinogradima imali su veću količinu Cu što je posledica primene sredstava za zaštitu vinove loze na bazi bakra (bakar-sulfata).

Quality of agrochemical in plant production in Serbia

AB  - In this paper are presented results of monitoring of pesticide and fertilizers quality during five years (2001-2005). Total number of analyzed pesticide and fertilizer samples were 2203 and 2724 respectively. It was found 5.5 % incorrect pesticide formulations and 11.3 % of incorrect fertilizer formulations. Most often falsificated are herbicides Motivell and Pivot.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja kvaliteta đubriva i pesticidnih preparata. nastali u intervalu od 2001. do 2005. godine u Laboratoriji za agroekologiju u Zavodu za zemljište agroekologiju i đubriva Naučnog Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo Novi Sad. AB  - With the aim to evaluate the general condition and possible degradation of soil in the Vojvodina Province, soil samples were collected from 1,600 locations. The main chemical properties of the soil, levels of harmful and hazardous substances, the abundance and enzymatic activity of microorganisms, and pesticide residues and the products of their degradation were studied. The health condition of irrigated soils was studied in particular, since salinity and alkalization occur frequently in irrigated fields. It can be concluded from the results that the soils of the Vojvodina Province are still suitable for the production of quality and safe food.
AB  - U ovom radu ukratko su prikazani rezultati rada naučnih radnika Naučnog instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo i Poljoprivrednog fakulteta u Novom Sadu, na Projektu "Kontrola plodnosti zemljišta i utvrđivanje sadržaja štetnih i opasnih materija u zemljištima Vojvodine" i rada na pilot "Osnovi zaštite, uređenja i korišćenja poljoprivrednog zemljišta za opštinu Bački Petrovac", koji su se odvijali u toku 1992. i 1993. god. U preko 3.000 uzoraka zemljišta analizirana su: osnovna hemijska svojstva zemljišta sadržaj opasnih i štetnih materija u zemljištu, brojnost i enzimatska aktivnost mikroorganizama, ostaci pesticida i produkti njihove degradacije u sistemima za navodnjavanje određivan je i salinitet zemljišta kao i sastav vodorastvorljivih i apsorbovanih katjona.

Basic chemical properties of soils planted with fruit and vine crops in Vojvodina

AB  - Soils of Vojvodina on which fruits and vines are grown have slightly acid to alkaline soil reaction, low to very high carbonate content, low to medium humus content, and low to very high levels of readily available phosphorus and potassium. For this reason, future growers of fruits and vines are encouraged to have their soils analyzed for basic chemical properties before establishing orchards and vineyards in order to avoid unwanted consequences.
AB  - Osnovna hemijska svojstva zemljišta predstavljaju osnovu za odlučivanje da li pristupiti podizanju zasada voćnjaka i vinograda, a ukoliko su isti podignuti za preduzimanje odgovarajućih agrotehničkih mera za dobijanje stabilnih prinosa i prinosa dobrog kvaliteta. U radu su izneta osnovna hemijska svojstva zemljišta Vojvodine sa 4 lokaliteta pod vinogradima i 5 lokaliteta pod voćnjacima. Uzorci su analizirani po dubini od O do 30 cm i 30 do 60 cm. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata može se zaključiti da su zemljišta Vojvodine pod voćnjacima i vinogradima slabo kisele do alkalne reakcije, te slabe do jake karbonatnosti. Sadržaj humusa kretao se od niskog do srednjeg, a fosfora i kalijuma od vrlo niskog do visokog toksičnog nivoa. S obzirom na dobijene rezultate davane su i odgovarajuće preporuke za pravilnu primenu đubriva kao i vreme njihovog unošenja.

AB  - In the climatic conditions of the Vojvodina Province drought is a regular phenomenon. It occurs every year and lasts shorter or longer period significantlyinfluences the reduction of plants yield. In those conditions irrigation is a big advantage in food production. The aim of irrigation is not only to eliminate the deficit of water, but to contribute the more intensive agriculture production as well. Inaddition of great advantages, the use of water in irrigation process may also give some undesirable results on the soil properties. Considering the fact that, the experiments of irrigation influence on yield of cultivated plants have been carried out at theInstitute of Field and Vegetable Crops for more than twenty years, the aim of this investigation was to determine the influence of irrigation on properties of chernozem soil. In the paper, the results of the comparative investigation on the properties of soilchernozem in conditions with and without irrigation were presented. The basic chemical soil properties adsorptive complex, mechanical composition, the content of salts in the soil, the quality of irrigated water were investigated. On the basis of theinvestigated results there were not found out any significantly influence of irrigation on the change of properties of the soil chernozem.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati komparativnih istraživanja svojstava černozema u uslovima sa i bez navodnjavanja. Ispitivana su osnovna hemijska svojstva. adsorptivni kompleks, mehanički sastav,sadržaj soli i kvalitet vode za navodnjavanje. Na osnovu rezultata istraživanja nisu utvrđene značajnije promene svojstava černozema u uslovima višegodišnjeg navodnjavanja.
