AB - This study aimed to determine the variability properties of four major types of Amaranthus species in
protein and amino acids content in leaves and flowers. Obtained results by ion exchange chromatography in
our study have shown high values for the content of essential amino acids lysine and methionine. In the leaf,
the lysine content ranged from 3.9 (A. caudatus) to 7.0 (A. cruentus; A. moleros), and in the flowers from 4.2
(A. caudatus) to 6.7 (A. molleros). The methionine content ranged from 3.1 (A. caudatus) to 7.4 (A.
mantegazzianus) in the leaf and in the flower from 2.9 (A. caudatus) to 6.7 (A. mantegazzianus). Besides lysine
and methionine, significant values of other essential amino acids were recorded, respectively. Significant
concentrations of total proteins were recorded in all examined genotypes. The heritability of the studied
characters as protein and mineral content of seeds and leaves, and oil contents of seed were significantly high.
The maximum values of the protein content of seeds were 16.55% (A. cruentus), in leaves 20.10% (A. caudatus),
and the minerals in seeds 2.73% (A. moleros), and leaves 18.76% (A. mantegazzianus). The oil content of seeds
was 6.16% (A. moleros). The oil content of the seed’s proportion of genetic variance to total phenotypic variance
was 72%, and it has a significant impact on ecological factors. Tested divergent Amaranthus genotypes may
serve as parents for further crossing. Amaranth seeds is gluten-free and is important in the diet of celiac patients
and contains amino acids, especially lysine, which acts against the herpes virus. Amaranth from amaranth leaves
biologically active substance that prevents heart muscle damage during ischemic processes. Amaranth seed oil
has hypolipemic, anti-atherosclerotic, hypotensive and antioxidant activity.

AB - Since the change in climate is unquestionable if we plan to have sustainable milk production we need to implement a long-term mitigation method. A precondition for the genetic evaluation and selection of genetically heat-resistant animals is the measurement and analysis of the variability of microclimate parameters. Therefore, this research aimed to show the variability of microclimate parameters in a selected dairy cattle farm. The records of ambient temperature and relative humidity in the selected farm were measured using a Datalogger. The conducted research and data analysis indicate noticeable variability of observed microclimate parameters (ambient temperature, relative humidity and temperature-humidity index) in regard to the measurement days. Determined daily THI values indicate a high probability of the occurrence of heat stress in the observed period. Furthermore, daily monitoring of microclimate parameters enables timely reaction and prevention of more serious consequences of heat stress on dairy cows.

AB - Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is the most important forage plant species in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this study, conducted in Banja Luka, the investigated ten alfalfa genotypes originated from different regions of USA and Europe. The study objective was to determine their grain yield per plants and four morphological properties. The interactions analyses provided to select individual genotypes that are shown the highest stability and yield potential in different production conditions. Genotype with the highest yield shown lower stability level. The influence year and genotype on GYP – the grain yield per plants for investigated alfalfa genotypes was significant (Fexp=7.54* and Fexp= 8.34*). The highest average value for investigated parameter in the first research year had genotypes G53 and G44 and in second research year genotype G2. The lowest value in both research years had genotype G100 (0.28 kg ha-1 and 0.30 kg ha-1. Positive and strong correlations were found between the grain yield per plants and the number of pods per plants (r= 0.74**) and the grain yield per plant and the number of flower per inflorescence (r= 0.51*). On the basis of the obtained values, we conclude that we have excellent genotypes G2, G44, G53 and G51 for successful breeding work in order to obtain new high-yielding varieties of alfalfa.
visokoprinosnih sorti lucerke.

AB - Recently, there has been an increasing demand for natural, healthy, and safe products without residual antibiotics for human consumption, particularly bee products. Beekeepers have been struggling with this problem many years, having in mind often occurrence of American foulbrood (AFB), which is one of the most severe honey bee brood diseases, and in the past have been successfully eradicated with heavy usage of antibiotics. Such controlled, or mostly uncontrolled usage of antibiotics in fighting against American foulbrood lead to a residual quantity of antibiotic in honey. To overcome this problem, this research aimed to investigate the influence of single essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) in protecting bees against AFB compared to the antibiotic oxytetracycline. Totally three treatments were formed artificially infected with P. larvae spore suspension, at concentration 2×109 spore/ml. The course of the disease was regularly monitored. Treatment one (T1) did not receive antibiotic therapy. Treatment two (T2) was given lavender essential oil at a concentration of 0.1% of sugar syrup. The treatment was applied for 30 days, at 48h intervals. Treatment three (T3) received antibiotics in the sugar syrup at a concentration of 0.1%, respectively. Clinical and laboratory examinations were performed on days 10, 20, 40 and 60, respectively. Besides, L. angustifolia essential oil rich in Ethanol, 2- (2-ethoxyethoxy) - (13.05%), linalool (10.71%), α-Terpinyl acetate (10.93%) and linalool acetate (9.60%), showed its positive effects against antibiotics in combat of American foulbrood, further research with a specifically designed qualitative and quantitative mixture of essential oils are more than necessary because single essential oil is not enough and didn’t show expected results.

The objective of this study was to estimate stability of yield and hundred grains weight of six maize genotypes during two growing seasons at two locations, subjected to four different treatments: T1
treatment—without herbicide, Control; T2 treatment—active substance Nicosulfuron and Motivell commercial preparation; T3 treatment—active substance Rimsulfuron and Tarot; and, T4 treatment—active substance Forasulfuron and Equip. Additive main effects and multiplicative interaction—
AMMI model and genotype × environment interaction—GGE biplot were used to estimate GEI—genotype by environment interaction. The results showed that the influence of genotype (G), year (Y), locality (L), treatment (T) and all interaction on hundred grains weight were significant. The share of genotypes in the total phenotypic variance was 64.70%, while the share in total interaction was 26.88%. The share of IPCA1 in terms of G × T interaction was 50.6%, while share of IPCA2 was 44.74%, which comprised together 94.80% of interaction. The first IPCA1 axis showed high share in the total interaction, which indicates out significance of genotype in total variation and interaction,
while high level of IPCA2 indicates a significant treatment effect. Genotype L-6 had the same mass of 100 grains (37.96 g) during both years of testing, while genotype L-1, with 4.46 g, had the largest difference between years. This clearly indicates the influence of genotype but also stress under the influence of sulfonylureas and environmental factors. The maize genotype with the highest values of hundred grains weight, L-5 and L-6, expressed the highest values of grain yield (4665 kg ha−1 and 4445 kg ha−1).

AB - Panicum miliaceum - millet is a gluten-free cereals with high nutritional value, rich in proteins, carbohydrates, phytic, phenolic and salicylic acids, minerals and vitamins: phosphorus, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, zinc and B complex vitamins. Millet flour is added to wheat flour to make bread and pastries and the aim is to obtain products with improved nutritional value. Before use, millet should be soaked in water for 6-12 hours, and only then thermally processed (cooked). Heat treatment affects the reduction of phytic acid content. Due to the high content of salicylic acid, millet is used in cosmetics, and it also has antifungal and anticancer properties. The grain is rich in magnesium and iron, which is why it is used by people suffering from anemia and cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study is to indicate the importance of millet, production technology, yielding potential, nutritional value of the Biserka variety and impact on health.

AB - Changes in climate will significantly affect agricultural production and especially plant and animal production worldwide. Climate change threatens global food supply as certain crops become more expensive due to reduced production and supply. The global human population is projected to increase to over 9 billion people by the year 2050. Forecasted population growth will result in an increase in demands for food by about 50–60% approximated to the current demands. This study aimed to show the models and the possibilities of improving productivity while reducing emissions. Precision animal farming by using various sensors and big data management contributes improvement of the system in terms of animal health, productivity, and welfare. It will make it possible for farmers to optimize the management of the farm and consequently realize an efficient and sustainable production system from the economic and environmental point of view.

AB - The circular economy offers a new product-waste-product model, in this case obtaining biofuels from rye biomass. The circular economy introduces a new product design, which will enable its functionality for a longer period of use. Secale cereale L. is an economically important crop for food, feed and bioenergy. The objective of this study was to estimate productivity of rye genotypes and the possibility of obtaining biogas from rye biomass during two growing seasons, 2019-2020. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of year and genotype on rye productivity parameters, biogas, methane yield, methane proportion, and the possibility of using rye as an alternative fuel in Serbia. The influence of the year and genotypes on the parameters of rye productivity, biogas and methane yield, methane content and the possibility of using rye as an alternative fuel in Serbia was investigated. Genotype and year × genotype interaction had a statistically significant effect on biogas yield, methane yield and methane content in the studied rye genotypes. Genotype G1 had the mean of green biomass yield (25.73 t ha-1) significantly higher compared to genotype G2 (23.75 t ha-1) in both years of experiment. Green biomass yield (24.11 t ha-1) was better in 2019 compared to 2020. Biogas yield varied from 260.57 m3 ha-1 (genotype G1) to 214.58 m3 ha-1 (genotype G2). Biogas yield were better in 2019 (237.85 m3 ha-1 ) compared to 2020 (237.30 m3 ha-1 ). A positive statistically highly significant correlation was attained between the green biomass yield and the length of the spikes (0.82**), green biomass yield and biogas yield (0.93**),
green biomass yield and methane content (0.90**).

AB - The aim of this study was to determine the variability of productivetraits of maize hybrids of different FAO maturation groups on foliar plantnutrition in agro-ecological conditions of Srem. Macro-examinationswere set up at the Napredak farm in Stara Pazova. The land belonged tothe carbonate chernozem type. These experiments will be part of many years of varietal research that will be performed on this property. Thefirst results showed that unfavorable weather conditions did notsignificantly affect the reduction of yield thanks to the moderntechnology of corn production applied to Napredak. The average yield ofraw grain (17.7% moisture) was 17.02 t ha-1. The foliar nutrients did notaffect the yield, because they were used in the period when there was noprecipitation.
