AB - The purpose of this study was to look into how the breed (Holstein or Simmental) and breeding region (Central, Eastern, and Mediterranean) influence the occurrence of subclinical mastitis and its impact on milk production. In order to do this, the study examined 3,953,637 test-day records of Holstein cows and 4,922,751 test-day records of Simmental cows. The daily lactose content was utilized to diagnose subclinical mastitis. The study’s findings showed that subclinical mastitis rates varied significantly depending on the breed and breeding location. The Eastern region’s Holstein cows were the least common. On the test-day, when subclinical mastitis was found in all regions and breeds, the lowest daily milk output was also noted. Subsequent milk records, however, revealed an increase in milk output that differed according to breed and breeding location. The Holstein cows from the Eastern region showed the largest overall increase in milk production. According to these results, healing potential differs greatly depending on the breed and breeding area. Eastern region farms raised Holstein cows, who had the lowest rate of mastitis-related problems and the best likelihood of recuperating and reaching their genetic output potential. As a result, this study implies that dairy cows that are reared at the large, specialized dairy farms that are common in the Eastern region recover more quickly.

AB - Since the change in climate is unquestionable if we plan to have sustainable milk production we need to implement a long-term mitigation method. A precondition for the genetic evaluation and selection of genetically heat-resistant animals is the measurement and analysis of the variability of microclimate parameters. Therefore, this research aimed to show the variability of microclimate parameters in a selected dairy cattle farm. The records of ambient temperature and relative humidity in the selected farm were measured using a Datalogger. The conducted research and data analysis indicate noticeable variability of observed microclimate parameters (ambient temperature, relative humidity and temperature-humidity index) in regard to the measurement days. Determined daily THI values indicate a high probability of the occurrence of heat stress in the observed period. Furthermore, daily monitoring of microclimate parameters enables timely reaction and prevention of more serious consequences of heat stress on dairy cows.

AB - Sustainable resource management and environmental protection are the basis for ensuring long-term stability and quality of agricultural production on the global food market where organic production has a great chance. In this study, organic crop production in Serbia is analyzed in comparison with neighbouring countries, and the prospects for the development of organic crop production in our country are indicated by SWOT analysis. Trend of growth in value of organic production is recorded a continuous upward path, due to the increased awareness of people about the importance of consuming health-safe foods, produced in a certified system of organic agriculture. Organically produced plant derived food products have a higher nutritional value than conventional ones and lower level of contamination in organic crops, which is why the risk of diseases caused by contaminated food is significantly reduced. Мain benefits organic productions are health-safe products, economic profit/benefit, preserving the environment and health.

AB - Panicum miliaceum - millet is a gluten-free cereals with high nutritional value, rich in proteins, carbohydrates, phytic, phenolic and salicylic acids, minerals and vitamins: phosphorus, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, zinc and B complex vitamins. Millet flour is added to wheat flour to make bread and pastries and the aim is to obtain products with improved nutritional value. Before use, millet should be soaked in water for 6-12 hours, and only then thermally processed (cooked). Heat treatment affects the reduction of phytic acid content. Due to the high content of salicylic acid, millet is used in cosmetics, and it also has antifungal and anticancer properties. The grain is rich in magnesium and iron, which is why it is used by people suffering from anemia and cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study is to indicate the importance of millet, production technology, yielding potential, nutritional value of the Biserka variety and impact on health.

AB - Changes in climate will significantly affect agricultural production and especially plant and animal production worldwide. Climate change threatens global food supply as certain crops become more expensive due to reduced production and supply. The global human population is projected to increase to over 9 billion people by the year 2050. Forecasted population growth will result in an increase in demands for food by about 50–60% approximated to the current demands. This study aimed to show the models and the possibilities of improving productivity while reducing emissions. Precision animal farming by using various sensors and big data management contributes improvement of the system in terms of animal health, productivity, and welfare. It will make it possible for farmers to optimize the management of the farm and consequently realize an efficient and sustainable production system from the economic and environmental point of view.

AB - The aim of this research was to determine the effect of a cow’s health status (healthy, at risk, with mastitis; indicated by the number of somatic cell counts) on the value of biochemical parameters in blood serum and milk of Holsteins regarding the month of sampling. Therefore, blood and milk samples were taken from 75 Holstein cows during May, June and July and analyzed in the laboratory. The statistical analysis of data showed that the all effects included in the used statistical model (parity, stage of lactation and classes SCC) statistically significantly (p< 0.05) affected the variability of biochemical parameters in blood plasma and milk of Holstein cows. Furthermore, variability in all analyzed parameters due to the month of sampling was observed. Obtained results indicate that, if biochemical parameters in blood serum or milk are used as a bioindicator of occurrence of inflammation of organism (mastitis or some other disorder), a correction needs to be done accordingly to animal-related effects (parity, lactation stage) and the effect of month of sampling.

abstract = "The aim of this research was to determine the effect of a cow’s health status (healthy, at risk, with mastitis; indicated by the number of somatic cell counts) on the value of biochemical parameters in blood serum and milk of Holsteins regarding the month of sampling. Obtained results indicate that, if biochemical parameters in blood serum or milk are used as a bioindicator of occurrence of inflammation of organism (mastitis or some other disorder), a correction needs to be done accordingly to animal-related effects (parity, lactation stage) and the effect of month of sampling.",

AB - The aim of this paper was a detailed analysis of the state of the rural area of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia, from the aspect of opportunities and economic assumptions that this area has, using SWOT, PESTLE analysis and HDI methodology. The analysis showed that the rural area of the two analyzed countries is significantly behind the EU average. The results showed that political and legal factors have the greatest impact on the state of rural areas, while other factors in terms of development are not sufficiently represented. Furthermore, the results of the analysis show that over 90% of the population is literate, while the level of investment attraction is below the EU average. For this reason, it is necessary to raise labor productivity, that is, to initiate investment absorption measures to improve technology, and the production process, which would ultimately increase GDP per product unit. Therefore, it can be concluded that the rural areas of the analyzed countries have development potential, and it is necessary to use it adequately.

AB - Secale cereale L. is second important bread grain, after wheat, and an economically important crop for functional food. Rye production parameters in world and in Serbia were analysed in this study and quality parameters. The average rye area (4.28 mill. ha) and production (12.12 mil.t) in world, in the five- year period, recorded a growth trend and average grain yield was 3.01 t ha-1. In 2020 in the Republic of Serbia, the average grain yield of rye was 3,23 t ha-1. Rye is considered a healthy cereal due to its high content of dietary fiber and is a rich source of vitamins B and E, minerals: Ca, Fe, F, P, K, Zn, Mn, Cu, K, which is why it is a suitable raw material for the production of functional food. Rye foods have beneficial effects on insulin, which may have positive implications for diabetes prevention. Development of innovative and tasty rye products is crucial in increasing awareness, consumption of rye foods and thus production

AB - In order to determine the variability of biochemical parameters, blood and milk were sampled from 25 Holstein cows for a period of three months. The differences in the analyzed parameters due to the animal's health status (risk of acidosis or ketosis or normal health status; defined according to the fat/protein ratio) and animal’s age (parity classes) were determined. The results of this research indicate the variability in biochemical parameters in both blood serum and milk as a result of variance in animals' health status and due to various age of animal implying that animals' response depends on animal age. Obtained results should be considered in the modelling for the prediction of metabolic disorders occurrence.
