Comparative reaserch of working two treaters during treatment sunflower hybrid seed

AB  - Seed treatment with fungicides is very good way for plant protection. That is esspecialy important in early way of plant growing. Treating of seed with fungicide provide reduce using of pesticides comparing with treatment with sprayer in the field. Fungicide seed treatment should meet several conditions: must have no effect on the biological characteristics of the seed, has to be effective in a variety of growing conditios and must be safe to handle. Sunflower seeds in the seed processing treated with fungicides. Of fungicides for the treatment of hybrid seed is mostly used metalaxil. Seed treatment is last phase of seed processing and seed treater is equipment for seed treating. In this paper work are shown results of reaserch which was done in Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. Aim of this reaserch was to check percentage of pesticide active materials losses during sunflower seed treatment with two seed teaters (B-10 and CC-50). Reaserch was done on four sunflower hybrid seeds NS Fantazija, NS Oskar, Orfej and NS Novak. The best results had seed of hybrid NS Fantazija, because hybrid NS Fantazija have smothness seed pericarp. Analyses of active materials losses shown as that seed treater B-10 had biger losses. This biger losses was expected because seed treater CC-50 it technical improve and better treater then B-10.
AB  - Tretiranje semena fungicidima predstavlja povoljan način zaštite ratarskih kultura od bolesti u ranim fazama razvoja biljaka. Nanošenjem na seme upotrebljava se znatno manja količina pesticida u odnosu na folijarne. Fungicid za tretiranje semena treba da zadovolji nekoliko uslova: ne sme da ima uticaj na biološke karakteristike semena, mora biti efikasan u različitim uslovima gajenja i mora da bude bezbedan za rukovanje. Seme suncokreta se u procesu dorade tretira fungicidima. Od fungicida za tretiranje hibridnog semena suncokreta najviše se koristi metalaksil. Hemijsko tretiranje semena, odnosno njegova zaštita, je završna faza dorade i vrši se na specijalnim mašinama za zaprašivanje semena, zaprašivačima. U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati uporednog ispitivanja dva zaprašivača, B-10 i CC-50. Ova dva zaprašivača se koriste u centru za doradu hibridnog semena suncokreta Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo u Novom Sadu. Ispitivanje se izvršilo na četiri hibrida suncokreta najnovije generacije NS Fantazija, NS Oskar, Orfej i NS Novak. Najbolji rezultat je ostvaren tretiranjem semena hibrida NS Fantazija, pošto taj hibrid ima gladak nenaboran perikarp. Rezultati ispitivanja su pokazali da zaprašivač B-10 ostvaruje veće gubitke. Lošiji rezultati ovog zaprašivača su posledica starije tehnologije i tehničkih karakteristika u odnosu na drugi ispitivani, centrifugalni zaprašivač CC-50.

Effect of hybrid, storage conditions and seed protection on sunflower field emergence

AB  - Seed emergence under field conditions decisively and directly determines the number of plants per hectare, which is one of three basic components of yield in the plant world. Influence of chemical treatment on field emergence of three commercial sunflower hybrids stored in different conditions was tested in 2007 and 2008 on experimental field of Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. On average, hybrid H1 had the highest value of field emergence (88.79%) and for chemical treatment fl udioxonil + metalaxyl + imidacloprid (87.71%). Seed kept in common storage had the highest emergence value in fi eld (87.92%). Seed treated with fl udioxonil + metalaxyl + imidacloprid and stored for one year in common storage had the highest field emergence (90.18%). Considering interaction between storage conditions and genotype, hybrid H1 seed sown after chemical treatment had the highest field emergence (91.82%) and seed kept in common storage (90.48%). Hybrid H1 seed compared with other two had the highest field emergence treated with fludioxonil + metalaxyl + imidacloprid (91.84%).
AB  - Ujednačeno nicanje u poljskim uslovima direktno određuje broj biljaka po hektaru, što je jedan od najvažnijih uslova za postizanje visokog prinosa suncokreta. Tokom 2007. i 2008. na oglednom polju Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo iz Novog Sada ispitivan je uticaj hemijskih tretmana na poljsko nicanje tri komercijalna hibrida suncokreta, čuvanih u različitim uslovima skladištenja. U proseku, najveća vrednost ispitivanog parametra bila je kod hibrida H1 (88,79%) i hemijskog tretmana fludioksonil + metalaksil + imidakloprid (87,71%). Takođe, najveće poljsko nicanje u proseku pokazalo je seme koje je čuvano u skladištu (87,92%). AB  - This paper reviews sunflower hybrid seed processing at Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops Novi Sad with all practical, technical and technological solutions. Additionally, efforts of Institute's employees are presented here in creating new technical solutions, particularly machines, aimed at their adaptations in existing sunflower seed processing, in order to get better quality and quantity of the processed seed. The paper also reviews original solution of the seed processing improvement with the new machines, regarding their position in the system and their connection in the semiautomatic operation system, with the possibility of independent operation. Seed processing results in high quality sunflower hybrid seed produced and ready for the severe market competition.
AB  - Ovaj rad prikazuje praktičnu realizaciju sistema dorade hibridnog semena suncokreta u Institutu za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo Novi Sad zajedno sa tehničko-tehnološkim pozicionim rešenjima. U radu su napomenuti i doprinosi zaposlenih Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo Novi Sad u idejnom kreiranju novih tehničkih rešenja na pojedinim mašinama sa ciljem njihovog prilagođavanja doradi semena suncokreta u smislu boljeg kvaliteta i kvantiteta dorađenog semena. Rad prikazuje i originalno rešenje proširenja sistema dorade novim mašinama, sa aspekta njihove pozicije u samom sistemu, kao i priključenje u poluautomatski režim rada, sa mogućnošću autonomnosti u radu. Rezultat dorade je visokokvalitetno seme hibridnog suncokreta spremno za veoma oštru tržišnu konkurenciju. .

Loss of sunflower seed protectant due to leaching

AB  - Manufacturers of agricultural chemicals supply recommendations regarding the doses to be used. The recommended rates are typically experimentally calculated by determining the minimum effective dose that provides protection against primary infection or pathogen attack and the maximum dose above which the chemical in question becomes toxic for the germ, seed or plant. Most protectants that are presently used for seed treatments are labeled XL, which signifies that they are liquids. When several protectants are used, they are either blended or are applied separately in several layers. The WP formulations, which are in the form of powder, make use of various carriers which come under different brand names, but their common characteristics are that they are harmless for the germ and are chemically inert. The objective of this study was to determine by an analytical method the amount of seed protectants that is washed off from a seed surface during germination and leached into the soil. The moisture causing the protectants to wash off may be resident moisture, which is limited in volume and is stable, or extra moisture coming from heavy rainfall or showers, which is dynamic and which percolates quickly into deep soil layers carrying along the washed off protectants. The seeds that lost their protective coating are prone to pathogen attacks and primary infection. This paper describes the analytical method used to assess the amount of leached protectants and discusses the obtained experimental data.
AB  - Kompanije koje proizvode hemijska zaštitna sredstva za poljoprivredu za svoje proizvode propisuju dozu za korisnike. Do preporučenih doza najčešće se dolazi eksperimentalnim putem, određujući najmanju dozu koja još pruža zaštitu od primarne zaraze ili napada patogena, i najveće doze iznad koje je sredstvo toksično za klicu, semenku ili biljku. Zaštitna sredstva koja se danas koriste za zaprašivanje semena uglavnom se stavljaju u promet sa oznakom XL što znači da su u tečnom stanju. Kada se istovremeno koristi više zaštitnih sredstava za zaštitu semena, nanose se u vidu koktela ili pojedinačno, slojevito. Za WP formulaciju, što znači praškasti oblik hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava, koriste se razni tečni nosači koji imaju različite trgovačke nazive ali su im zajedničke osobine da su neškodljivi za klicu i da ne stupaju u hemijske reakcije (inertni su). U ovom radu pokušalo se analitičkom metodom utvrditi, količina hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava korišćenih prilikom zaprašivanja semena, koja se speru u dublje slojeve zemljišta, sa površine semena posle setve a nakon dodira sa vlažnim zemljištem koje izaziva klijanje. To može biti vlažnost u manjoj količini koja se ponaša stabilno ili dinamična vlažnost koja se pojavljuje usled pljuskova a ponaša se nestabilno i brzo prodire u dublje slojeve, noseći sa sobom čestice hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava. Iz dubljih slojeva čestice pesticida nisu dostupne klijancu u startu te su izloženiji patogenima i primarnoj zarazi. U radu je opisana jedna analitička metoda za utvrđivanje izgubljene količine hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava i široj javnosti su prikazani praktični rezultati.

abstract = "Manufacturers of agricultural chemicals supply recommendations regarding the doses to be used. The recommended rates are typically experimentally calculated by determining the minimum effective dose that provides protection against primary infection or pathogen attack and the maximum dose above which the chemical in question becomes toxic for the germ, seed or plant. Most protectants that are presently used for seed treatments are labeled XL, which signifies that they are liquids. When several protectants are used, they are either blended or are applied separately in several layers. The WP formulations, which are in the form of powder, make use of various carriers which come under different brand names, but their common characteristics are that they are harmless for the germ and are chemically inert. The objective of this study was to determine by an analytical method the amount of seed protectants that is washed off from a seed surface during germination and leached into the soil. The moisture causing the protectants to wash off may be resident moisture, which is limited in volume and is stable, or extra moisture coming from heavy rainfall or showers, which is dynamic and which percolates quickly into deep soil layers carrying along the washed off protectants. The seeds that lost their protective coating are prone to pathogen attacks and primary infection. This paper describes the analytical method used to assess the amount of leached protectants and discusses the obtained experimental data., Kompanije koje proizvode hemijska zaštitna sredstva za poljoprivredu za svoje proizvode propisuju dozu za korisnike. Do preporučenih doza najčešće se dolazi eksperimentalnim putem, određujući najmanju dozu koja još pruža zaštitu od primarne zaraze ili napada patogena, i najveće doze iznad koje je sredstvo toksično za klicu, semenku ili biljku. Zaštitna sredstva koja se danas koriste za zaprašivanje semena uglavnom se stavljaju u promet sa oznakom XL što znači da su u tečnom stanju. Kada se istovremeno koristi više zaštitnih sredstava za zaštitu semena, nanose se u vidu koktela ili pojedinačno, slojevito. Za WP formulaciju, što znači praškasti oblik hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava, koriste se razni tečni nosači koji imaju različite trgovačke nazive ali su im zajedničke osobine da su neškodljivi za klicu i da ne stupaju u hemijske reakcije (inertni su). U ovom radu pokušalo se analitičkom metodom utvrditi, količina hemijskih zaštitnih sredstava korišćenih prilikom zaprašivanja semena, koja se speru u dublje slojeve zemljišta, sa površine semena posle setve a nakon dodira sa vlažnim zemljištem koje izaziva klijanje. AB  - Yield performance is an important target in sunflower hybrid breeding. This property, in addition to yield stability, is crucial for producers and it depends on many factors. One of these factors is plant number per area unit. This property is greatly influenced by polyphagous insects, either those residing in the soil (wireworms) or those that attack young leaves (aphids, crickets, etc.). These damages decrease crop stand and yield performance. Because of that, systemic insecticides are often applied in seed treatment. The treated seed is more expensive, but a reduced number of treatments during growing season, better plant stand and improved yield performance compensate for the higher price.
AB  - Za oplemenjivače je visina prinosa jedna od najvažnijih osobina prilikom stvaranja novih hibrida suncokreta. Ova osobina i stabilnost prinosa hibrida su od najvećeg interesa i za proizvođača. S obzirom da je to složeno svojstvo, njega uslovljava veliki broj činilaca. Jedan od tih činilaca je i broj biljaka po jedinici površine. Na ovu osobinu prvenstveno utiču polifagni insekti, koji mogu biti štetočine u zemljištu (žičnjaci) ili razni insekti (vaši, popac i sl.) koji nanose štete na mladom lišću. Nastale štete direktno utiču na smanjenje sklopa, a indirektno i na smanjenje prinosa po jedinici površine. Zbog toga je primena insekticida, posebno sistemičnih, prilikom tretiranja semena suncokreta sve više prisutna i kod nas. Ovakvo seme ima višu cenu, ali se uložena sredstva vraćaju kroz smanjenje tretiranja u vegetaciji, postizanje boljeg i ujednačenijeg sklopa, a samim tim i većeg prinosa.

AB  - Four seed fractions of winter wheat were analyzed ( lt 2.2 mm, 2.2-2.5 mm, 2.5-2.8 mm, and >2.8 mm). Thousand-grain weight, germination energy and total germination were tested under laboratory conditions. The average value of 1000-grain weight increased with increasing seed size. On average, the most and least abundant fractions were >2.8 mm (43.2%) and 2.2-2.5 mm (9.2%), respectively. The highest percentage of germination (94%) was found in the  lt 2.5-2.8 mm and 2.2-2.5 mm fractions and the lowest in the  lt 2.2 mm one.
AB  - Analizirane su četiri frakcije semena ozime pšenice  lt  2,2mm, 2,2-2,5mm, 2,5-2,8mm i >2.8mm. U laboratorijskim uslovima ispitana je masa 1000 zrna, energija klijanja i ukupno klijanje. Prosečna vrednost mase 1000 zrna se povećava sa povećavanjem krupnoće semena. Rezultati su pokazali da je u proseku najveći udeo zrna imala frakcija  gt 2,8mm od 43,2%, a najmanji frakcija 2,2-2,5mm sa udelom od 9,2%. Najveći procenat klijanja 94% bio je kod frakcije  lt 2,5-2,8mm i 2,2-2,5mm, a najmanji 87% kod frakcije  lt 2,2mm.

AB  - Effect of new incrusting mass for seed treatment on germination, and energy of germination 4 different sunflower hybrids have been examined. Differences between hybrids have been established. Treated seed had better seed qualities comparing with non-treated, witch confirmed new formulation to be harmless. Examination has been repeated during seed storage, seed qualities haven't decreased. Also, effect of new and old incrusting mass on energy of germination, and seed germination (hybrid NS-H-01) during storage has been studied. There were no significant differences between old and new incrusting mass. Two different colors of new incrusting mass, in two doses - 300 (normal dose), and 400g/100kg of seed (increased dose), have been tested during seed storage of hybrid DUKAT. Germination of normally treated seed was higher then untreated seed. During seed storage germination of treated seed haven't decreased. This results confirmed harmlessness of new incrusting mass and enabled its undisturbed using.
AB  - Ispitivan je uticaj nove recepture inkrust mase za tretiranje semena na klijavost i energiju klijanja, kod semena 4 različita hibrida suncokreta. Utvrđene su značajne razlike u ispitivanim svojstvima između različitih hibrida. Tretirano seme imalo je bolje semenske kvalitete od netretiranog što je potvrdilo neškodljivost nove formulacije. Ispitivanje je ponovljeno u više rokova da bi se utvrdio eventualni uticaj dužeg lagerovanja ovako tretiranog semena, ali dobijeni rezultati ne ukazuju na opadanje semenskih kvaliteta. Takođe, upoređivan je uticaj nove i stare formulacije inkrust mase na energiju klijanja i klijavost semena hibrida NS-H-01 tokom lagerovanja. Rezultati su pokazali da nema značajne razlike između tretiranja semena klasičnom i novom, sopstvenom recepturom. Upoređene su i dve boje novog inkrusta u dve doze 300 (normalna doza) i 400g/100kg semena (pojačana doza) i to u nekoliko navrata, tokom lagerovanja semena hibrida DUKAT. Kod normalnih doza klijavost semena bila je značajno veća u odnosu na netretiranu varijantu. Nisu zabeležene pravilnosti u opadanju klijavosti tokom lagerovanja, koje bi uputile na štetno dejstvo novog inkrusta. Ovi rezultati potvrdili su neškodljivost inkrust mase nove formulacije i omogućili njenu nesmetanu primenu.
