AB - The attention of entomologists and plant protection experts in North America, and more recently in Europe, has been focused on invasive brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), a polyphagous pest in cultivated plants and ornamentals. After its discovery in North America (mid-90s), the species quickly invaded a large number of states in the U.S. and became a significant problem in the production of apples, peaches and many other plants, as well as a household nuisance. Since 2004, it has been present in Europe (Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, France, Italy, Hungary). Due to its appearance in neighboring Hungary (2013-2014), and its active expansion by flying, transportation and other means, we can soon expect the detection of this pest in our country. Mindful of the broad host range and severe damage the bug could inflict on numerous plants, as well as a household nuisance, this paper presents the literature data on its prevalence, appearance, biology, identification and suppression capabilities.

AB - Many pests belonging to different animal species damage the underground parts of potato plants, primarily tubers. Insect groups of major economic importance among them are wireworms and grubs, larvae of click and scarab beetles (families Elateridae and Scarabaeidae), the fi rst group being even more important. In this context, two species of click beetles distinguish themselves, namely Agriotes ustulatus and A. sputator, while Anisoplia genus is the most abundant on arable land amongst scarab beetles. Occasionally, potato tubers are damaged by cutworms, especially turnip moths, Agrotis segetum, whose second generation larvae are of economic importance. The greatest damage on potato is inflicted in late summer and early autumn. The estimated wireworm damage on potato tubers is up to 90%. Integrated pest management and the use of all reliable measures contributed to the reduction of the importance of wireworms and other soil pest species. Timely and accurate application of cultural practices such as crop rotation, crop selection, time and method of tillage, crop remains destruction, fertilization, irrigation, time of potato harvesting and many others, are needed for a productive crop yield. Since the middle of the last century, pesticide use has been and will probably continue to be the basis of soil pests control. There are several insecticides for wireworm control registered in Serbia: chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid, tefluthrin, zeta-cypermethrin, and recently added fipronil (formulation Goldor Bait). To what extent will conventional insecticides be used in future will primarily depend on the development and implementation of alternative methods and worldwide procedures of controlling these pest groups. Such measures should include the introduction of pheromones, the use of entomopathogenic fungi and nematodes, botanical insecticides and their effective implementation, together with developing forecast models and similar steps.
AB - Krompir, a pre svega krtole u zemljištu, napadaju i oštećuju brojne životinjske vrste. Među njima su najvažniji žičari i grčice (larve fam. Elateridae i Scarabaeidae). Povremeno, pojedinih godina, značajne štete mogu pričiniti i podgrizajuće sovice (fam. Noctuidae), posebno vrsta Agrotis segetum.

AB - The health status of crucifers and lettuce crops in organic production, was examined during the 2011 and 2012 growing season in the village of Kisač, the Vojvodina Province. The presence of white rot and downy mildew on lettuce, downy mildew on kohlrabi and club root on cabbage was noticed. These pathogens in favorable conditions and in lack of preventive measures could be a problem in organic production. Harmful insects were detected only on crucifers. Soon after seeding to the field, young plants were attacked by highly abundant populations of Phyllotreta species, especially during July 2012. In the second part of growing season, in 2011, the most numerous on cabbage were larvae of Lacanobia oleracea and Mamestra brassicae, while in 2012 prevalent was Helicoverpa armigera. Other crucifers, like kale, kohlrabi and broccoli were less attacked by noctuid larvae.

AB - After first sporadic findings of green stink bug Nezara viridula L. on Mountain Fruska gora and in Belgrade during 2008 and 2009, this species unnoticeable breed in last few years in Serbia. From the end of August to the middle of October 2011, mass occurrence of adults and larvae N. viridula in the vicinity of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Sombor, on soybean, pepper, tomato, vine and weeds was registered. Considering the broad host range and severe damage that this bug could cause on many plants, in this paper data about area of N. viridula distribution, description, life cycle, harmfulness and control measures are presented.

AB - The forecasting of the degree of occurrence of major field crops pests in Vojvodina Province has been regularly reported since 1978. By inspection of soil samples from fields where cereals and sugar beet were grown in 2009, the following average number/m2 was recorded: 3.0 wireworms (Elateridae), 4.7 whitegrubs (Scarabaeidae), 0.34 caterpillars of Agrotis spp., 0.65 adults of Bothynoderes punctiventris and 0.1 chrysalides of Mamestra spp. The number of Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) decreased in 2009, with fewer injuries on sweet corn, paprika, tomato, tobacco etc. The number and injuries of ECB (Ostrinia nubilalis) were under average and previous year values. The adults of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera had usual population dynamics.
AB - Pregledom zemljišta posle gajenja strnina, u jesen 2009. godine, na području Bačke, konstatovano je smanjenje brojnosti žičara i podgrizajućih sovica, ali vrlo značajno povećanje gustine larvi žitnih pivaca. Pregledom starih repišta, utvrđena je vrlo niska brojnost važnijih štetočina šećerne repe - repine pipe i lisnih sovica. To ukazuje na potrebu redovnog praćenja pojave navedenih i drugih štetočina tokom vegetacije u ovoj i narednim godinama, uz praćenje fenofaza razvoja useva i meteoroloških uslova.

AB - The area under rapeseed is increasing in the world as well as in Serbia, which makes appearance and harmfulness of some insects more important. Weevils (Coleoptera: Curculionoidea) are group of insects whose presence and destructiveness on oilseed rape are not explored enough. Results of rapeseed entomofauna exploration at site Rimski Šančevi during 2008 are presented in this paper. Insects were collected using yellow traps method, also known as Moericke's dishes, which can be considered as one of the most appropriate methods for this kind of research. During spring, 433 adult specimens were collected (all belong to five genera and ten species). More than tenfold less specimens were collected in autumn - 42 (seven genera and 11 species). The most abundant genus was Ceutorhynchus, and species Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus (Marsham) (=quadridens Panzer). .

AB - The occurrence and forecasting of the major field crops pests in Vojvodina Province (particularly Backa) has been regularly reported since 1978. By inspection of soil samples from the fields where cereals and sugar beet were grown in 2007, the following average number of insects/m2 was recorded: 2.2 wireworms (Elateridae), 1.5 white grubs (Scarabaeidae), 0.1 caterpillars of Agrotis spp., 0.0 adults of Zabrus tenebrioides, 0.0 adults of Bothynoderes punctiventris and 0.1 chrysalides of Mamestra spp. In late autumn, 10.2 adults/m2 of senn pest (Eurygaster and Aelia), was found on overwintering site Fruska Gora. The number of Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) increased in 2007, with significant injuries on tobacco, paprika, tomato, second-crop corn and sunflower in some localities. The number and injuries of ECB (Ostrinia nubilalis) were significantly lower to previous year, while the population density of the WCR (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera) was slightly higher. The major problems in small grain production were aphids, while rodents' populations decreased.
AB - Tokom vegetacije 2007. godine, na području Bačke, konstatovana je slaba pojava i intenzitet napada higrofilnih štetočina biljaka, a značajnija pojava kserotermofilnih vrsta. Pregledom zemljišnih uzoraka u jesenjem periodu, utvrđeno je odsustvo žitnog bauljara i repine pipe, vrlo niska gustina podgrizajućih i lisnih sovica, a umeren rast brojnosti larvi skočibuba, grčica i žitnih stenica.

AB - With the aim of more rationally wireworm control, different methods for their forecast were investigated. By standard, manual soil survey (0.25 m2), in the middle of October 2001, it was established that there were no significant differences in Elaterid species structure and population densities between optimal and two times smaller number of samples, while on three times smaller number they are. During April-May 2002, potato baits attracted two times more (47.2/m2) and a wheat and corn seed baits even 2.5-15 times more (63-382/m2) wireworms than it was found in standard soil samples (25.4/m2). In early March 2008, potato as attractant was not successful in forecasting wireworms in sugar beet, while wheat and corn seeds were more efficient sown like triangle than single. By plant baits it is sufficiently to survey two or more times less area and four or more times less volume of soil, respectively, which is significant saving in time and labor.

AB - In 2005 and 2006, the agent of tan spot, Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, was registered in high intensities in several locations u Serbia. Under conditions of natural infection, lowest disease intensities were observed in the winter wheat cultivar Simonida (trace). Most sensitive to P.tritici-repentis were the durum wheat cultivars Durumko and Dusan, rated 03 and exhibiting the infection intensity of 40%, while the triticale cultivar Odisej was rated 03 and the infection intensity in traces, to 5%. The application of the biological fungicide Koni WQ, which contains Coniothirium minitans spores in an inactive substrate, showed that the permanent inactivation of sclerotia amounted to about 67%, in response to the action of the fungicide's active agent. Most of the insecticides used for seed treatment provided a significantly better sugarbeet stand that the untreated control.

Due to their systemic action, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and their mixtures with fipronil provided very good protection of young plants against beet leaf aphid and less efficient protection against beet weevil. All insecticides for corn seed treatment provided significant reductions in the extent of root damage by western corn rootworm larvae. Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops has intensive programs of development of sunflower and corn hybrids tolerant to certain herbicides. Tests are conducted on possibilities of weed control by means of herbicide protectants. In Serbia special interest was raised by the sunflower tolerant to imidazolinones (Clearfield*sytem) and tribenuron methyl and the corn tolerant to cycloxydim (Duo System).

AB - The occurrence and forecasting of the major field crops pests in Vojvodina Province has been regularly reported since 1978. By inspection of soil samples from fields where cereals and sugar beet were grown in 2006, the following average number/m2 was recorded: 1.2 wireworms (Elateridae), 0.8 white grubs (Scarabaeidae), 0.9 caterpillars of Scotia spp., 0.0 adults of Zabrus tenebrioides, 0.16 adults of Bothynoderes punctiventris and 0.9 chrysalides of Mamestra spp. In late autumn, 9.4 adults/m2 of senn pest (Eurygaster and Aelia), was found on over wintering sites. The number of Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) increased in 2006, but injuries were insignificant. The number and injuries of ECB (Ostrinia nubilalis) were slightly higher to previous year, while the population density of the WCR (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera) was similar. During 2006 one of the major problems in plant production were rodents, particularly Cricetus cricetus, while during summer on soybean it was Vanessa cardui. .
AB - Tokom vegetacije 2006. godine, na području Vojvodine, konstatovana je slaba pojava i intenzitet napada štetočina biljaka (sem izuzetno jake pojave hrčka i stričkovog šarenjaka). Pregledom zemljišnih uzoraka, u jesenjem periodu, utvrđeno je odsustvo žitnog bauljara, niska brojnost repine pipe i grčica, pad brojnosti žitnih stenica i larvi skočibuba, a znatniji porast brojnosti podgrizajućih i lisnih sovica.
